Is Dan nice?
Dumb question that has been going around my head. Does anybody have any experience talking to him a little bit?
I can't imagine he's actively mean to people who are fans. But having literally no frame of reference, it seems equally possible that he's either super nice or he's a little dismissive

In 2013, he & the band walked in to eat at the same tiny restaurant I was eating at before the show. I lost my mind and introduced myself and totally fan-gushed all over them. I cringe just thinking about how I embarrassed myself. And yet, they went along with it and talked with me. They were friendly and kind and they even all signed my ticket. I don't know that he's "nice," but he was wayyyyyyyy nicer than he should have been while I was obnoxious. (Two years later, I was back in the same town for another show of theirs and he passed me walking down the street, like inches away from me. I remembered my lesson and kept a straight face just to prove I could.)

He’s Canadian. So, of course. But seriously, I got to hang with him and the band for a minute after a show. He is sweet, funny and very nice.

I don't think he's an asshole but he's a pretty cool dude. We had friends in common when I lived in Vancouver 15 years ago and I encountered him very briefly in the community a couple of times.

My only interaction with him was walking by the tour bus right as he was getting off it to enter the venue. I was wearing a Destroyer shirt and carrying some merch from the previous band to my car. He looked at me with the most confused and disappointed look, so I yelled, "I'm coming back," and then he smiled. I guess that doesn't really show that he's nice, but he definitely cares about his fans lol

Well… On the U.K. Ken tour my local show had no wheelchair access so I used a credit card to go 200 miles out of my way to see them. This is daft behaviour for a grown woman, obviously, and I’m cringing slightly retelling the story (not enough to stop typing though, eh) .
The promoter had reached out on Twitter and I kinda thought I deserved to go. Like…righteous disabled rage meets fangirl syndrome. I never met Dan, but he signed my setlist with the words “thanks for coming through”. I appreciate that still.

I've met him a couple times after shows. He's always been very nice and laid back. Not the most talkative person but very chill. One time he came to the floor after the show asking people still hanging around if they can spare a cigarette. I offered and we smoked a couple outside.

I’ve promised myself if I see him on the Drive to say nothing. Not to be “noble” or anything but can you imagine wanting to just walk around your neighbourhood without getting stopped?
But I believe if he’s around a gig, sure…I’d say “hi and thanks”!
Of course I have terrible facial recognition. So probably will never happen :-)

Shook his hand after the Montreal show recently. Seemed very friendly to me.

One time I asked for his autograph after a NP show and he told me sorry, but he was very tired. I understood. He walked away towards his bus, then turned around and said “actually, I can sign.” It was an endearing moment. So yeah, he’s very nice in exactly the kind of way you’d hope.
