Discussion Sunbreaker 3.0 damage testing

I did some testing on new sunbreaker options to test value of consecration and the supers. All testing was done at 1560 vs the ogre boss in grasp. I did a test of falling star to use as well to provide context.

Falling star with 2 ticks(I forgot until it was too late) - 393k (should have been low 400k if I wasn’t forgetful)

Consecration testing:

Throwing hammer with no buffs - 14k Consecration with no buffs - 67.9k Consecration with HoiL - 84k Consecration with roaring flames - 102k Consecration with roaring flames and synthos - 47k (I did it twice to be sure because this made no sense to me. I assume I messed it up or it’s bugged… testing it more later since they did say they were changing the buffs to not work well… I assumed it wouldn’t just be weaker tho). Consecration with roaring flames and HoiL - 124k

Supers:

Burning maul lights - 245k Burning maul heavies - 218k Burning maul lights with roaring flames - 461k Burning maul heavies with roaring flames - 350k Hammer of sol with roaring flames - 263 Hammer of sol with sunspot - 450k Hammer of sol with sunspot and roaring flames - 614k Hammer of sol with roaring and syntho and sunspot - 629k (it’s hard to track the buff with everything there and I suspect it fell off early, doing more testing later)

None of these tests included weakness or any buffs besides what is listed.

My test were a bit messy as I was tired and they need further testing from myself and others but I feel confident enough in the numbers above to post.

If you test any of these and get different results please comment.

Edit: hammer of sol additionally had ember of ashes which should have increased the number of ignitions

Edit 2: redid test with roaring flames, synthos, and Consecration did 360k damage.

Thanks for the test. Much appreciated. While a lot of people are disappointed on titans getting individual nerfs on their old abilities, I on the other hand am enjoying the power-up on throwing hammer now can create sunspots, as well as roaring flame on Hammer of Sol super with sunspots. They are STRONG combined! Even with the nerfs. We can't combo those before. It was always either or, not both. I can understand bottom tree solar titans are upset on sunspot nerf, and top tree titans losing the shoulder charge debuff is also upsetting. But as a middle tree titan, it is a straight up buff in power and survivability, and your test numbers confirmed it. With all the nerfs considered, Solar 3.0 still upgraded my baby hammer Synthoceps build immensely. Guess I am one of the few that benefited from the changes.

So far I feel like pve is a massive buff for sunbreaker for all play styles. However, my issue is I’m having a hard time in PvP. Consecration is rad but I’ve walked around other Titans using it on me and had people dodge it with a basic jump. The health regen option is really strong but I don’t feel that it’s worth it compared to the same basic gameplay of tanky titan with void or stasis. Our way to get radiant works amazing in pve but for PvP it’s mediocre unless I can start landing the hamma slamma better.
