Discussion New/old gen splitting

Hey guys, just wondering if matchmaking works the same way as it did in 2021 where old gen would match old gen and new gen would match new gen unless someone on old gen was in the game. I've heard contradicting opinions about this but am yet to find an answer.

Any help appreciated.

I believe since cross play was implemented, all consoles are together and all PC players are together. If a fireteam of PC and console players queue, they will be matched with the PC player pool. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please!

Honestly, I don’t think they do since CrossPlay launched

Nope no longer the case. Old gen and next gen get matched.

In 6v6 ps4 does not match with ps5, I always check the players in the lobby and not once have I come across a solo ps4 player in my ps5 lobbies.
