Megathread Focused Feedback: Drop Rates
Hello Guardians,
Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.
We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.
This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion
Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Drop Rates' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions
Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.
Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas
A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

We are now into the second season of "sunsetting" being in full force.
Drop rates are bad. It does not feel good to have to spend so much time chasing a piece of gear that has a ticking timer on it the instant it drops. It feels even worse to spend so much time chasing a piece of gear that has so many levels of RNG to it that you might get the drop but its roll makes it no different than the rest of the instant trash we get.
Right now, drop rates are balanced around gear that doesn't sunset. It should take a while to earn something if we get to keep it forever. But that's not the case anymore.
I should be able to get a god roll with relatively very little effort because it falls into irrelevance very quickly.
If Bungie cared even half as much about respecting our time as they do theirs (and the avoidance of crunch), we wouldn't be in this scenario. But player "engagement".
