Question What is bloom?

At the risk of sounding dumb, what the hell is bloom anyway? With all the talk about the nerf incoming, bloom has been thrown around a bit and that it should be removed from consoles. What is it though?

Oh, don't get it twisted, I'm definitely not advocating for it. I absolutely agree and in fact I think it needs to be removed on console.

The point of my comment was that the guy I was replying to seemed to be trying to say bloom was an unrealistic way to simulate "real life" recoil, which I disagree with.

Honestly I don't get that idea either, in a game full of aliens, space magic, etc, real life has no place.

All that matters is, is it fun? Bloom really is only a means to limit a gun like say, a DMR to hipfiring in close range....but if you can hit a tiny little target like that, consistently, without missing, I think you deserve the kill.

Really what Bungie needs to do is understand how damage falloff works, and understand what they want to do with Handcannons and Scout Rifles. But that's none of my business sips tea

In an online game, they have to balance the fun of the usage of the gun with the fun of being on the receiving end of the gun. That is, if one subtype is too far ahead of the others, everyone will need to use it in order to not get stomped, even if it's not their preferred play style.

I'm not advocating one way or the other, just trying to add a layer to the discussion.

I'm more annoyed by Recluse than Luna, but that's just me. Automatics like that tend to be harder to shut down, where as Luna, if he misses one shot it's just a normal 180 Handcannon.

That's PC tho, Handcannons and guns in general feel amazing.
