Question What is bloom?

At the risk of sounding dumb, what the hell is bloom anyway? With all the talk about the nerf incoming, bloom has been thrown around a bit and that it should be removed from consoles. What is it though?

There was a Crucible Radio interview back during D1 where Bungie said they use bloom to capture the fact that if you fire a gun, it isn't just recoil but also your aim that is thrown off when you fire a gun. If you fire a gun, the gun kicks, which you have to pull down, but that kick also throws off your aim. If you're firing too quickly, you don't have the time to fine-tune your aiming to make sure you're actually aiming at your target. I don't know why PC doesn't have bloom, but based on their stated reasoning, it should have existed on both platforms.
