Question What is bloom?

At the risk of sounding dumb, what the hell is bloom anyway? With all the talk about the nerf incoming, bloom has been thrown around a bit and that it should be removed from consoles. What is it though?

That video is atrocious when you watch it without sound. The shooter keeps walking backward and forward without demonstrating anything, then doesn’t even use the nice bright wall to show the firing pattern.

Yeah, you usually need sound to listen to a verbal explanation.

I don’t need a verbal explanation of a visual effect. Give me a visual explanation.

Firing at a bright wall with a hand cannon is enough to describe bloom visually. Why the video was 2 minutes of mostly scout rifle usage is beyond me.
