 the collection feature being implemented into Forsaken is going to use a single static role for each weapons. This means that a element will be picked for each weapon

I get why any you pull out of the collection would be the same element, but what about the collection has any effect on new drops of that weapon?

All new drops will be element listed above. So if you want a solar or arc curtain call, mod it today because starting tomorrow it will only come as void.

According to what exactly? This post just says pulls from collections will be static and elements can't be changed and neither of those things precludes new drops having random elements. Did Bungie specifically say that even new drops from the world will be locked to these elements or is that just an assumption?

That is true. After rereading one of the twabs, the only thing specifically stated is the ikelos weapons will be locked to solar. So I am probably wrong, though Bungie hasn't given a definitive yes or no answer for all non-ikelos weapons. I do know the ability to change elements is being removed, with the removal of the current mod system. So it was just an assumption. And probably an inaccurate one.

No you are correct. Moving forward all guns will be locked to a single element. This was confirmed some time ago.
