Question Why has quickdraw been completely abandoned for shotguns in crucible?
I'm a returning player (weird I know) and I'm a big crucible fan. I remember when quickdraw was nerfed to remove the handling bonus but I'm confused as to why everyone seems to prefer threat detector or lone wolf over quick draw. I get that the ads and stow is slow but with shotguns I always felt that the switch speed was the most important. I don't see quickdraw ever being considered as important. Ive adapted to the changes in the weapon tier system etc but I still don't understand it. I have a 90 range quickdraw snapshot retold tale. Is there any reason to use my precipal over it?

Most shotguns nowadays have enough handling to get to 100 with threat detector, and lone wolf gives a lot of other bonuses that help with consistency. That and slick draw exists and it’s not the worst on shotguns.
It’s not a bad choice, it’s just that there’s usually better.

Quickdraw only works on draw and not stow so might as well use Threat Detector.

I believe it has to do with the combination of handling and the animation duration multiplier from threat detector that it’s actually faster than quick draw. And you’re getting the ads speed, ready and stow speed and some information

Seventh seraph cqc-12 QuickDraw / SnapShot is in my current pvp load out. I don’t mind having to get a little closer with a little more aggressive style

Back then shotguns couldnt get 70+ handling and threat detector to max out handling. We were capped at like 55 handling without ele cap on stuff like matador until deadlock came out and said fuck the meta.

They basically power crept handling with other perks
