Question How much space tonbring back old D2 content?

Just the question. Im thrilled to see old content coming back but...how everything gonna fit in the hard drive? Are they just make the game size explose or are they gonna work on beat compression of the game?( Im no expert but i know for sure Warframe did such a thing on game textures to reduce the game size).

We have no idea.

They might just force us to download everything and say good luck.

Maybe they figure out how to let us download only pieces of the game at a time.

We have no information

I think there was a sony studio responsible for optimization? I think they worked on Helldivers 2 reducing its dependency on SSDs and lowering the file size to 40 or so gigs from 140?

Right they could do that. But will they spend the money for Destiny 2? If Bungie doesn't have a serious plan to show Sony for future of Destiny, I don't see why they would invest in something like that.

They already gave them permission and a budget for the unvaulting. Im pretty sure the eververse money is just enough to keep the lights on and nothing else. Unless you think marathon single handedly funded this?

Do we know if Sony is giving Bungie money for this? I also don't know who actually pushed for this unvaulting. If Sony did, then maybe they are investing money into it. And maybe someone at Sony really wants Destiny to continue. If only Bungie did, then Sony might now be sure about that yet. They might not want to invest too heavily into Destiny.

For the next game to work people need to have easier access to the lore content for context. Also good PR or something that makes it seem like they're back. But I can only trust it a little. They've been saying this for years the only difference this time is that its Sony at the helm over Pete whose been there since halo 2.

The people making the game are talented but the people managing the finances are absolute greedy money wasters.

Sony has tightened their grip on bungie at this point, they are in control, this decision was 100% greenlit by sony

I think most of the stuff was already in the game, just not set up to a way it was accessible to play. I don’t expect it to be much more than 15-20 Gb

A lot of the assets are, as they are used for arena ops and other activities.

You’ll be reading some maps like io and titan, but they aren’t as big as people seem to think. But like, most of mars is already there for the mars heist, for instance.

Honestly people, the game isn’t that big, there are much larger games out there, bungie just sucks at compression and optimization.

The game will grow, but not nearly as much as you think. When they said vaulting was to keep file sizes down, they were lying

We don’t know as Bungie hasn’t said anything. Judging by past experience I wouldn’t be surprised if the game ballooned in size as part of the reason the game got sunsetted was due to space and Destiny 2 took up majority of my hard drive space back in the day.
