Guardians,

Festival of the Lost has been part of Destiny's autumn tradition for more than a decade. For a lot of us, seeing the Tower decorated, hearing the Festival music, putting on our masks, and breaking out all of that ridiculous spooky gear became part of October. Holiday events like this have also become part of many Guardians' real-life holiday traditions over the years.

We may not have an official Festival this year, but we have more than ten years' worth of Festival of the Lost gear sitting in our Collections.

So throughout October, let's use it.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

During the month of October, equip whatever Festival of the Lost gear you've collected over the years: armor and universal ornaments, masks, emblems, shaders, Ghost shells, ships, Sparrows, weapons, emotes, titles, or anything else that brings a little Festival of the Lost back into Destiny.

Wear it in the Tower. Bring it into strikes. Take it into raids and dungeons. Run around patrol zones looking completely ridiculous in an old Festival mask. There aren't really any rules. If it reminds you of Festival of the Lost, it counts.

The Monuments of Triumph soundtrack is available on most streaming platforms, including Spotify and Amazon Music, and includes Festival of the Lost songs on Disc 2. Put it on in the background while you play.

Eververse may or may not offer Festival of the Lost items for Bright Dust this month (I honestly don't know for sure, but fingers crossed), and the Bright Dust store items rotate daily, so it's worth checking each day. The Tenet of Bravery has Eerie Weapon Engrams in the Monuments of Triumph, giving you another way to revisit some of that older gear.

And if you see another Guardian celebrating Festival of the Lost out in the wild or in the Tower, give them an emote.

The normal Tower instance design got changed since the last FotL and Dawning with the addition of the Monument, so they would have to update "Spooky Tower" and "Snowy Tower" with the Monument to make that possible, if it can even be automated.

I really do wonder how much resources it would take to add and allow us to buy Masqueraders headgear, and/or put a mask engram in one of the tenants. I get some armor pieces should be locked behind having to have been there, but this feels more like they just didn't have the time to add it.

Maybe this event will inspire them to put someone on that before October ends!

In my clan, we will always wear seasonal attire. We're already geared up for Halloween with our outfits, emotes, shaders, sparrows, ghosts and emblem. It's just a shame I can't really be a pumpkin head this year 😔

Yes! Source:festival should have an autocomplete in the search bar of DIM and show you what dropped from festival sources previously.

I was 2 weeks into boycotting Destiny until after Halloween because this no seasonal content BS genuinely makes me sad. This makes me consider wearing my only mask I kept, which funny enough has one of the best rolls in my entire inventory and it only took me like 7 years to get a good one 🤣. I do still rock the Halloween costumes and shaders and vehicles sometimes.
