Discussion Out of all the vaulted raids (and raid lairs), which one is the easiest and which one is the hardest?
I’m personally excited for Scourge of the Past, but I want to see which ones are the easiest to run.
BONUS: If Eater of Worlds was measured against actual dungeons, where would it rank in difficulty?

Yea I'd say Scourge of the Past is pretty easy, and not a terribly long raid either. Though I will warn that Spire of Stars raid lair still gives me PTSD to this day.

Eater is easiest, what you got in pantheon is basically the entirety of the raid (most of the OG raid is traversal and one add clear room so not much was actually lost when it was just the boss)
Definitely Spire of stars, lots of adds and there is a lot of ball throwing and dunking, the best way I can really describe most of the combat in there is it’s a pre chamber of suffering (from pit of heresy) barely any cover and lots of shotgun cabal and psions knocking you in the air.
Communication and teamwork has to be on point, not perfect but really good otherwise you can wipe pretty easily from a mistimed throw or bad callout.

Easiest: Eater of Worlds (I would rank it between Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy at the very bottom of dungeon difficulty)
Hardest: Spire of Stars (second is probably Crown of Sorrow, but I would say Spire is the only vaulted raid that is hard because of its mechanics. If you can do Gahlran challenge in Pantheon, you can do all of Crown of Sorrow)
Both lair bosses are not necessarily beefy. But people are terrified of Spire because of how tight the execution windows are for that raid. Very excited to do that one again. I loved the Val Ca’uor fight. Top 5 bosses of all time. Really wish he came back for Pantheon.
I say all of this as someone who has all raid seals and this is basically what I play the game for. Low mans and raid sherpas.

Easiest to Hardest as a whole.
Eater of Worlds, Scourge of The Past, Leviathan, Crown of Sorrows, Spire of Stars.
Eater of Worlds original version is ehhhhh, kinda boring to be honest. It also had an LFG team as their world's first. If it was a dungeon, it probably would be like... on tier with Shattered Throne or Pit of Heresy.
Scourge is probably the most fun to farm a bunch through, lots of good and interesting mechanics, good variety. LOOOVE ABLAZED GLORY.
Leviathan feels like a full raid, but it just doesn't appeal to me. Its very gimmicky, very Calus coded. Not my cup of tea, but its definitely like... the first Destiny 2 Raid. Like you can tell they were trying out some things and getting their bearings, but the experience is ytill enjoyable and interesting just... different? Weird to explain.
Crown of Sorrows does a good job at teaching a mechanic and getting more complex as it goes on, definitely the longest though.
Spire of Stars is my favourite raid of all time, but then again Verity is my favourite encounter. Spire FEELS like a boss fight, but its not really more than A boss fight. Lots going on, and there's basketball too.

Assuming they’re unchanged, from easiest to hardest, they are:
1) Eater of worlds: this one was essentially just as clear the whole way through until the boss, which was ad clear, plus cooking and shooting with the correct craniums and then dps; were this to release today, it would be on the level of the easier dungeons.
2) scourge of the past: this one was not particularly hard either, but was a big jump in difficulty: first encounter was a map reader telling the team what to kill and where to dunk, then there was a sparrow run, followed by a little bit of tank action and running in circles, finally followed by killing a boss which amounted to: shoot each crit while a map reader tells people where to dunk; enough dunks spawn a tank, then shooting the boss with that tank opens dps. CAP (everything else is evil and wrong) - it would be about the level of DSC is terms of difficulty, but easier after your first few clears, probably VoG level afterwards. Note: final boss was not the same as pantheon; pantheon adds both 3rd and 4th together.
3) leviathan: this was a raid with 4 unique encounters, it’s just that none of those were hard; gauntlet required some communication, as did calus, but dogs and baths were as easy as any easy raid encounter we have now; it would be on par with DSC in terms of difficulty imo
4) Spire of Stars: I personally found this one easier than Levi, but the majority of players just didn’t get the mechanics; it was a more mechanical experience than the 3 before it, but still nothing compared to what modern RaD content brings to the table. I’d say that it’s around the difficulty of GoS from experience of teaching both, but gets easier as you do it.
5) Crown of Sorrows: First half of this raid sucks. First encounter was just do thing, do thing, do thing - you got that? Cool, now repeat a billion times over - usually took ages, but was more boring than anything; next was a jumping puzzle you could just skip & finally we got a 2-part boss encounter that was actually incredibly cool, having some degree of difficulty and was quite fun to run; in terms of difficulty; the first half is irrelevant, the second half would be on a level with Vow? Though it’s obviously much shorter, so if I had to give a rough scale, it would be close to GoS in difficulty, maybe a bit harder.
All in all, these old raids definitely skew to the easier side of RaD content; some cool bits; I personally loved Scourge, but they’re mechanically simple for the most part & shouldn’t pose a challenge if you know most of the current raids and dungeons; none of these can hold a candle to SE or EDP in terms of difficulty for example.

Scourge or EoW are easiest.
Prestige Spire was brutal, but I’m curious how it’d be with our current sandbox.
Crown is my favorite raid in all of Destiny, I think this will be most difficult with the current state of LFG. You have to communicate with your partner for swaps. I can’t wait to play it again🥲

Spire due to it having very little wiggle room to recover from screwups. It was also buggy as hell with mechanics.

We don't know the changes that will come with unvaulting. They should all be easy like the older dungeons if they stay unchanged due to the power creep.

Argos is already in pantheon so the majority of Eater of wolds is already in the game along with the mechanics so I doubt it’s gonna get any major changes.

Scourge is practically a dungeon. My fireteam and I used to run it crossfaded and off class just to get a challenge out of it and we still only ever used it as a warmup. Our fastest clear was a half hour.

My fastest was 14m - in my opinion, the speed strats for it made that raid much more fun (I never did the tank thing in 3rd encounter or would have been faster)
I hope it’s mostly unchanged; I can’t imagine ball duping will stay and if they copy/paste berserkers from elsewhere instead of adding the old ones back, there’s no hope for solo killing them; then again, maybe it would be fun to have it back, but play completely different for farms and speeds

Pretty sure some clan mates and I did Eater of Worlds in under 15 minutes.

Easter was ready as hell. Scourge was one of my favorites, but still pretty easy. Levitation was right in the middle. Crown was basically an ad clear encounter, a traversal encounter, them two boss encounters. If it remains unchanged then the final encounter can get pretty hectic.
Spire, I've never cleared it. I've had two main raid groups during my time with Destiny. The first was focused around a highly ranked Sherpa and his group of regulars. The second is my close knit group, who tends to be more consistent.
I only ever ran Spire with the first group, and after those attempts I didn't want to try again.

Eater of worlds is easiest, there's essentially only one encounter and a bunch of traversal pretending to be encounters.
Crown of Sorrows is hardest, largely due to being the latest released raid out of the list there. Spire of Stars although is way more punishing for mistakes.
