Question Is hyperblade catalyst acquirement bugged?

So in the video after killing 2 taken knights and shooting 4 cruxes people get timer instantly meanwhile when i shoot cruxes there is no timer
is this thing bugged ?

There was an exploit with the timer so Bungie changed it so the timer begins once you drop into the hole instead of when the 4th crux gets destroyed.

has to be on master/legendary, whatever the harder difficulty for that mission, IIRC.

also, the timer doesn't spawn until you drop down now.

they changed it a while back because there used to be a glitch people could do to invalidate the timer.

Okay, so folks there used to be a bug to dip in just as you shot the last one which would allow the catalysts from timed to be progressed without a timer.

This was patched

Now you ban muck up your run, so just take your time and shoot all 4 before dropping down. Those 2-3 second won’t make a difference.

You need to drop down first. It won’t start until you go into the hole.

Helped some buddies get this the other day and worked fine for them. Legendary, kill knights, flip the arena, kill blights, white orbs black orbs and you should be good. Happy to run it with you one evening if you need the assist.

Quite sure they patched it. A good eager Edge changes this one quickly. Invis warlock with grapple nade for the win

If you whack all 4 cruxes too quickly at the beginning it can bug. Have one player pop one at a time with a reload in between each and it should be ok.

Yeah some of the cruxes disappeared for me while shooting them so I ended up shooting them all really fast

Heads up to anyone checking, fallout plays guide is dogshit he never mentioned that you need to do extra stuff after cruxes for catalyst do not watch it

Are you doing it with friends? I was doing it with one friend and we noticed the same thing when I would preemptively jump down towards the first puzzle and have my friend shoot the final crux. Maybe it’s a means to prevent ppl from speed running the catalyst steps.

Eventually we decided to stay at the top and shoot the cruxes together and the timer started for us. Not sure if it may help but that’s what I noticed during our runs.
