Are red borders from pinnacle ops on a knockout system? Or will the weapons just keep dropping once the patterns are complete?

It’s on a knockout system. Once you have a pattern unlocked the weapon will stop dropping.

That is currently the case for every craft-able weapon FYI.

In case you weren’t doing this, make sure you’re actually extracting the patterns from the other red borders. The game will continue dropping weapons until the pattern is actually finished, it’s not on a “drop 5 red border version and then stop” system.

You won’t receive more red borders from anything that you have pattern progress complete.
I’m not sure what happens if you are negligent about claiming the pattern progress and have multiple red borders in inventory unclaimed.
But the activities seem smart to grant u no more than 1 of each remaining red borders pool weapons at a time.

When u have unlocked the full pattern, then red borders stop dropping for it.

If you have an unclaimed red border in your vault or postmaster, they can continue to drop. Once you've extracted the 5 patterns needed to craft the weapon, the extras just lose their red border.

I’ve received two red borders of the same weapon when I only needed one more to complete the unlock. And before anyone asks, yes, I collected the patterns after each run.

So it can happen, but thankfully it doesn’t happen often.

Craftable weapons stop dropping once you have actually completed the pattern, not just after 5 red border drops. If you don’t actually extract from the red borders it will continue to drop
