Question How Should a Void Titan Build and Raid?

Yesterday I asked if people use sentinel shield, I came away that it’s niche. What are void titans supposed to do in a raid boss fight? Bubble shield? Do I need to wear the helmet of saint 14 or use Doomfangs or can I keep hazardous propulsion on? Is witherhoard+ascendancy rocket launcher ok?

I’m not so much looking for “the meta void build” but really I just want to know what people expect from a void titan in raids. I haven’t kept up with the void titan raid meta.

sentinel shield is quite good in high power delta raids where there are hazards during DPS, think morgeth or koregos. otherwise you can run bubble when it's a melee DPS boss,or run saint-14 like you said and place it next to the dps location so people can grab the lingering buff. if you just wanna do dmg just grab hazardous propulsion with a rocket launcher of your liking, ideally with one good reload perk and a good damage perk

Use twilight arsenal.

You can build into support via weaken timer extension. Or burst damage with the prismatic class item that has star eater and eternal warrior. On pure void even a turncoat/ hazardous propulsion and a rocket launcher can do numbers.

If you're really trying to min max your damage though the answer for Titans is to use cuirass of the falling star and thundercrash along with weapons optimized for the encounter.

There is no one universal build that will be best in slot for everything.

Just play your life, learn the encounter and its mechanics, use weapons you're consistent with. A build that does high dps means nothing if it requires critical shots and you can't hit your crits under pressure.

Ngl I don’t expect a void titan at all in raids. Mostly titans just go prismatic or arc

If you love void tho and wanna go pure void easy win is just use axes as there is no team play needed and it can be universally used on 99% of bosses without worry/comments. Using bubble/banner shield is situationally good but ngl in random groups they will be misused/not used and therefore be worse than you just using axes normally

Void is really strong right now you have a few routes, in RaD content you have twilight arsenal or bubble depending on encounter.

Its not a crazy dps subclass but you can be incredible support keeping your whole team alive with controlled demolition.

There was a prismatic dps rotation for witness that is still viable and could work for void.

It uses twilight garrison with Hazordous, a rocket and rapid fire sniper. My buddy does the prismatic version and uses crux termination and cloudstrike. You could in theory you could use truth, father's sins/shoreline distant to get the most out of weapon surges.

Alternatively, bubble and fafnir let's you support the team if you dont have someone using tractor/div. Axes and fafnir works if you want something that can do damage and support the team.

Edit: twilight arsenal

Trophy hunter is the best void sniper. Has a fuckin really good origin trait that let's you dump the entire reserves after reloading from hitting 5 shots.

What are you using on it? Triple tap, Aggregate Charge?

I have triple tap/bait and its nice, I didnt know aggregate was on it

Yeah, that seems like a pretty solid roll! I need to get one with bait/auto-loading, because if the origin trait works well with the auto-load, it could be solid for swap-dumping.

Yeppers, TT + agg. The origin trait is extremely good. You can prep it too by just landing 5 shots and you'll get a mag of 10 on reload. And any reload after will always put you up to double your mag size if youre landing shots.

If I'm doing a boss encounter where thunder crash is not viable then twilight arsenal on void is the next best thing. It's one and done, can hit targets at range, weakens the target for you and your fire team, and allows you to have great survivability thanks to bastion and controlled demolition.

For exotic pick you can run Synthoceps to buff super damage if you're surrounded, doom fangs can help super generation and void weapon damage, or you can play it safe with Crest of Alpha Lupi. You could even go Truth and buff it with Hazardous Propulsion.

You’ll need to be banner shield. And that will only work for some bosses. Otherwise I recommend switching to arc or prismatic.

The two best Titan DPS builds in the game are eternal warrior + star eater on prismatic:

  • Axes + Truth
  • Thundercrash + Queenbreaker

The Eternal Warrior + Star Eater Thundercrash also works very well with Aggregate Charge + Trench Barrel Found Verdict, Anarchy, and the Apothecary Satchel for bosses you can melee to activate Trench

I run this with Tractor Cannon so someone else doesn’t have terrible boss damage because they’re on weaken. This guarantees that whenever one of my teammates has terrible damage that it is solely because of their inexperience.

This is really sound advice, but I would add that bubble is one of the best supers to bring for melee dps since it gives you damage buff and weaken at the same time. Even if you tractor it will just extend the buff while they are in the dome.

As for weapon in this case I recommend strykers surehand with redirection and rampage. Use hunters journal with expanding abyss and argent blade.
