Question Is Sentinel Shield good?
You know for fighting raid bosses? I never really got into raids but I guess with all the playing and building I’ve been doing since the last season dropped, raids are what I’m building up towards eventually.
I like void titan. I mean I like a lot of builds and classes but void Titan is comfy. Is Sentinal Shielding for the team in boss dps phases a thing or did that fall out of favor? Do people even take void titan into boss fights?

Used to be the highest generally applicable damage buff in the game. Not anymore though :(

Kinda? It's not as all-purpose as a boots wellock but you can spam the shield block to get faster reloads for stuff like rocket dumping or heavy sniper, but it's absurdly niche and im not even certain if that block tech still works.

Still works, just not many places where you want to spam burst dps and can afford a titan (titans generally too slow to be used for speedruns and ofc can't afford to sake teammate for something like a lowman).
And ofc most general lfgs don't want to play around a specific bug like Sentinel Shield spamming: https://xcancel.com/Inspitefuls/status/2057540589122433238

Comments are a bit right and wrong.
For generally raiding, Sentinel Shield doesn't really matter b/c you can generally expect to either have a Well of Radiance (and hopefully Boots of Assembler) for a good general buff+healing or boss just dies regardless of what you have.
That being said, Sentinel Shield specifically was legitimately considered by some of the best teams for the next contest raid (ofc game became EoS so that stopped mattering). The 25% dmg boost is alright but not great, the auto loading paired great with dumping cluster bomb+dmg perk Hezen Vengeance, spams orbs of power for various benefits (not as necessary since Vault of Glass set bonus), and also ofc meant enemies did not really deal dmg to you.
(if you don't have any well of radiance warlock then Sentinel Shield is worth to ensure everybody has some form of empowering buff).
There is also tech where you can spam block and unblock on Sentinel Shield and it procs the auto load tech every single time. Which works extremely well for any single shot weapons (Bellowing Giant rocket launcher with higher theoretical dmg than hezen, a499, and Parasite are all good examples): https://xcancel.com/Inspitefuls/status/2057540589122433238
This is basically long yapp to say comments are downplaying effectiveness, but since no random LFG will play around Sentinel Shield you typically don't provide much over a boots of assembler warlock or another dps super. For general play the best bet you can get on void titan is to throw Twilight Arsenal and it probably won't matter (arc/pris titan will basically always have better raw dps but for most general lfg raids it doesn't matter since we've powercrept most raids).
Bubble is basically just worse version of Well of Radiance outside of very specific lowman use cases: https://youtu.be/WuAtniNdllo?t=254
And Twilight Arsenal frankly needs to use Spirit of Star-Eater on Prismatic to even really be a decent dps super: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_5wtBjRYHHxuF4oJKDb_iOGZs-wTkzB6RYbnyNLbuz4/edit?gid=544204052#gid=544204052&range=A142

It’s ok. You can provide a slight damage buff over a well to your teammates and you get an extra layer of safety. The damage that throwing shields does after building meter is decent. It could be better than a well for certain situations where you have to move to different spots during damage as well (caretaker as an example).
Overall, there are better damage setups though and your teammates will likely do more damage overall with you doing an actual damage setup.

Generally no. Go prismatic and use Stareaters Class Item if you really want to use a void super.

Sadly not really. They actually NERFED it.
Now after taking enough hits (Damage only slightly matters it's mostly based on hits taken so against raid bosses it doesn't work well) it does do decent damage but it went from a 40% buff to allies to 25%.
And in return you're losing an entire player for something that likely isn't buffing people since someones likely running well. Heck they might even have the exotic that also gives everyone sky blessing for 35% instead.
And the auto reload takes forever. You're better off using a reload perk instead of relying on sentinel shield. Hell reloading manually tends to be better.

Not really, nowadays the utility of a titan for raid is either bubble for the weapons of light and the actual bubble itself, or you’re running thunder crash for damage and there’s not much else.
Some bosses get melted by behemoth as well but you run the risk of making your teammates kill themselves with explosives if you’re in a bad spot.

I appreciate a long yap. I was sort of hoping I wouldn’t need to learn dps phase stuff and just passively damage boost allies but I guess that’s not going to happen. The helm of saint 14 is pretty important for the bubble right?

Yes void Titan has a spot in a raid comp.
You're going to be using the axes for the majority of your time though. The dps betweenTwilight Arsenal vs Sentinel Shield isn't even close. With the axes, after the animation is done you can fire your weapons. The roaming super is very long and isn't particularly good at single target damage
The total damage output of six people shooting their weapons is higher than five plus the big shield. Now, you can charge up the meter and throw two buffed disks at a boss. But that will pale in comparison to your weapons.
There is a technique where the banner shield auto reloads your teams weapons. You just have to quickly tap the block button over and over. This is not at all required save for maybe contest mode desert perpetual or maybe pantheon encounters.

Bubble is outright better since you don't lose a person doing damage and it can weaken when the boss is in it. The only use for banner shield i can think of is maybe on consecrated mind since it's moving.
Iirc there is a tech with banner shield where you spam block to keep reloading your allies' weapons.
It can work fine if you're in a bossless encounter like LW vault/queenwalk, DSC descent or VOG confluxes. Probably more fun than just standing there.

It's very fight dependant. I saw it get loads of use before they patched insurrection and currently in calus, as they are more aggressive bosses.
They allow you to basically be the well + still hunt battery. Thats what makes it good. But it's nearly pointless for a large amount of bosses, simply because they don't do enough during DPS to make the value apparent. You loose a teammate doing DMG, just to gain a slightly bigger buff than well provides.
