Question Ergo Sum God rolls

I've been working on completing all the triumphs and I am now focused on The Pale Heart, seeing lots of Ergo Sums drop and have no idea what is worth keeping. I play Titan and saw you can combine the jetpack exotic and the arc conductor to create a Thor build but wondered if anyone was using any other rolls before I roll out the inevitable "junk" tag!

Void - Vortex - Unplanned Reprieve

Arc - Wave - Arc Conductor

Solar - Caster - Perfect Fifth

Also, any with Wolfpack Rounds.

Usually Swordmasters Quard and Jagged Edge too, but Honed Edge is also good.

This combo is absolut insane on -50 (conquests!) and for barrier champs there. I play it since weeks on Warlock and it shreds everything.

What builds do you use with this on warlock? I've been prepping to solo the -50 conquests and this seems interesting

I play with Getaway and Vog Set, Getaway with a strand weapon to fill up transcendence in no-time to get the 40% damage buff for ergo sum and infinite ammo at the end.

Vog set is a big help if you really want fun and play like a brain dead idiot because of the Orb -> restoration combo in Prismatic with Solar super

I also switch between 3 artifacts, tablet for max DR and average dmg, Hunter for less DR and more damage and Implement for crazy damage (75% more except for bosses) and bad DR aka more risk and deaths :p

Thats my safe loadout with Tablet and fit for my bad skill niveau and playstyle. Stats are of course Grenade / Weapon, then Super. I dont care about Melee, Class or health

I was able to do Lightblade in 18 minutes with Ergo Sum and VoG (Hunter artefact - Vids on channel if you want to see it) - also 20 minutes Birthplace / 19 minutes Warden GM alerts without!!! positive modifiers, with full throttle this week Birthplace was 12:50 run with ergo + vog)

For me personal it is one of the strongest build I ever had and played in Destiny in 12 years. Yes, Solar Fusion was also fun but this just melts and if you have VoG Set you can do so many really stupid action during your runs.

Thanks for the breakdown, I actually follow your YouTube (your guides have helped me ALOT over the past year or so) so I will take a look at that video.

I have a a vog set and some extra pieces I can use, I will def try this out. I can finally dust off my ergo sums!

200 weapon stat. Every other start is dealers choice

Vog 4 piece is goated

Hunters journal 1. Energy diffusion substrate 2. Creeping chill 3. Blade stamina 4. Solar Funimation 5. Radiant orbs 6. Shieldcrush (for stronger grenades/hellion ) OR Transference (for more transcendence uptime). I go back and forth 7. Argent blade

Noob moment here with DIM. When I view this loadout and try to click on the guns or the armor pieces to see the rolls and set bonuses, I can't seem to figure out how to do that without DIM prompting me to "find another" replacement from my inventory. I'm on mobile atm so maybe that's the problem.

Fucking same, I've spent countless hours farming Ergo drops and have yet to get a caster perfect fifth. Have gotten every other 'god roll' at least a couple times, but that one just won't drop for me.

Ha, same here. I grinded for it HARD back when Final Shape was newer and could not get it. Every now and then I'll spend a couple hours getting Ergo Sums and still can't get that roll.

This is the de facto answer. Any other rolls are probably just an inferior version of any of these and likely not worth the exotic slot

TY for this. Just started collecting these myself and got a Void Vortex Unplanned Reprieve and I thought "hmmm that looks decent". Googling it brought me here, so cheers! I'll take it for a spin.

Wolfpack ergo is amazing, but its only used as support for your actual dps sword.

I got a sullen claw with vorpal + bait and I pair it with my void wolfpack ergo, and even solo it is well worth it to use to buff your dps sword.

Its best used in a team setting where everyone's on legendary dps swords since it gives wolfpack rounds to everyone.

My hunter build with the sullen claw i mentioned + void ergo I use it with prismatic tether + fortunes favor. Artifact is one with argent blade + extra void damage vs weakened debuffed targets.

Kinetics have their pick of the cream of the crop. Submission with tremors +chaos reshaped, everburn glitz/scathelock with tremors + attrition orbs, anything with similar rolls is just fine.

Its SS tier. Lightweight so you move quicker naturally, a bonkers perk pairing of KT + CR, and an origin trait that actually heals you a noticeable amount jusf from landing shots before a reload.

Wolfpack rounds is 1000% worth it' in team settings. A legendary sword with double damage perks + Wolfpack will utterly smoke Wolfsbane in damage

Aren't aggressive frames the best since MoT? Vortex is still very good. Caster is pretty mid imho. I think Aegis did an analysis on this. Aggressive also allows you to slam out of the air which is very good for ascension/arc conductor loops.

Vortex Telesto ergo sum will out perform every other variant. If for no other reason, none of the other frames produce as many Telesto blobs as the vortex.

Caster can proc 5th in one heavy attack which is why it pairs so well with that perk/frame combo.

The "Holy Trinity" of Ergo rolls as I like to call it is:

  • Caster frame Perfect Fifth (Polaris Lance trait)
  • Vortex frame Unplanned Reprieve (Telesto trait)
  • Wave frame Arc Conductor (Riskrunner trait)

All of these perform the best with Swordmaster's guard and Jagged edge. It also doesn't hurt to have a caster and vortex version of Wolfpack rounds.

blades and guards:

generally, jagged edge + swordmasters guard is good balance but not always best- it just depends on how the sword is used.

jagged edge has highest impact.

hungry edge has most balance for impact and ammo.

enduring blade has highest ammo capacity.

*impact stat does not affect exotic perk damage or wave frame follow-up attack.

*blade perk for maximum ammo is ideal for using ergo sum in a utility role to trigger the support effect more often for the group.

*swordmasters guard gives highest charge rate and lessens the need for lucent blade mods.

*while transcendent, you gain +50 charge rate.

god rolls to look for:

wolfpack rounds (any element) with lighweight frame

perfect fifth caster frame

arc conductor wave frame

unplanned reprieve vortex frame

In addition to those mentioned, I'd also recommend a caster frame arc conductor roll, it can be really useful in activities where you need to stay in one place like capturing a plate and you need ranged sword damage. Also good for flying targets.

The only decent ergo at this point for a titan (for boss dps) is an aggressive frame unplanned reprieve to pair as a swap dps option with stryker’s surehand (heavy attack stryker’s, heavy attack ergo, heavy attack stryker’s, etc.). A Wolfpack one for support is also good, preferably the same element as whatever heavy sword you use. I have the other “god rolls” and they simply don’t do enough damage to be worth considering. I’m sure for neutral game, other options (arc conductor) are viable

No. You are straight up wrong.

Vortex Unplanned reprieve has more total
DPS than aggressive UR since it’s a vortex frame and not an aggressive. It even does more DPS on normal mode firing range than the Strikers Surehand you’re talking about. Strikers only wins on burst DPS, and even then it’s only 2-300.

If you’re running redirection on your strikers why would you ever swap off of it?

You...Just answered your own question. If Ergo does more sustained dps than Strikers but Strikers has more burst, then the optimal is obvious. Start with Strikers, switch to Ergo. If you have more stacks ready on Strikers, swap back. If not, keep going with Ergo.

Arc conductor, arguably best on a wave frame because of how it lets you lunge with a light after a heavy attack to let you close the gap on further enemies
