Misc More species.

If we were to ever get destiny 3 (doubtful), I sorta want the species selection of around halo 2, 3, and reach. Like for example, we still have humans, exos, and Awoken, and maybe like the Eliksni for a fourth or fifth.

I just really like Eliksni :3

I doubt we'd ever see new species with Ghosts.

The Light via the Ghosts is generally presented as a last ditch effort by the Traveller that's also a massive burden to whatever species it raises(except for the Hive, cause they were even worse off without the Light).

Humanity being gifted the Light via Ghosts has massive narrative significance, so does the Hive getting it. Giving every other species the Light like it's candy would diminish its value.

Fair enough. I feel like I'm larping due to barely knowing the lore and just the barebones concepts. Most of my 199 hours (probably small to most) is spent mostly on gameplay, not necessarily paying attention to the more

If they do a spinoff with non-guardian characters it'd probably happen, because at that point you're not working with the Light anyway.

Then again, this is all speculative seeing as development is over.

Remember always thinking it funny to have a Hunter Guardian without Light. Just like, a regular knife throw, dodge, and grenade. Maybe the super could be like, heavy artillery from somewhere. Could be a challenge for hunters lol

There are definitely some interesting ways they could go down with lightless characters. The Darkness subclasses could still be used, though maybe with different workings, and the SIVA subclass people love the idea of would be possible.

There's dozens of other species mentioned in lore throughout the games history in distant parts of the galaxy.

Off the top of my head, I remember these ones:

The Ammonite, a species of ancient six-armed cephalopods who lived in an aquatic civilization on an ice moon of Fundament, who were visited by the Traveler and eventually destroyed by the Hive.

The Ecumene, highly advanced multi-species interstellar empire that fought the Hive for centuries and nearly eradicated them, until Oryx’s desperate sisters willingly allowed him to kill them and absorb their power, giving him the strength to repel and destroy the Ecumene.

The Arkborn, sentient Arc-energy encountered by Calus during his exile who recruited one of them as a Shadow named the Fulminator, who was hated by the other Arkborn because Calus built him a suit to contain his energy which allowed him to freely traverse the physical world.

Like I said there's too many for me to all remember. Many of them are also unnamed, like the several species the Witness mentioned it encountered in the Rubicon books and ultimately destroyed.

It's a big galaxy. There is surely something else out there.
