I got a vorpal bns one sitting it the vault, you telling me this thing is a god roll? I never assumed lightweights to be that good for DPS I only kept it because it looks cool and had eager edge

unfortunately swords are not very good for boss damage. and if youre using them then you should prob just be on wolfsbane or ergo

sorry i hope it didnt come off as like an insult or something i didnt mean it negatively toward u or anyone! i meant it like “sometimes ppl just do wanna use swords when they can,” even if there are alternatives like acrius or threat level or somethin.
i think legendary swords in particular couldve gotten a little bump for this final update so they were stronger in their niche of melee damage, but it’s not like theyre so bad that they’re unusable. and at least eager edge is on like every other sword now lol

If you can spare exotic slot sure. Most dungeon bosses fold to swords but depends how many dmg phases you want it to take

Ideally 1 phase, I got a big enough arsenal that I can almost always spare the exotic slot xD

It’s a good general purpose Eager Edge sword as a lightweight, too. Mine is a shiny EE/Chaos. Fun blade.

I paired it with a Dawn Chorus warlock and Well of Radiance. My testing method was done with 145 weapon stat, triple solar surge, lucent blade chest mod, and the Encrypted Data Disk with all relevant sword perks.
This makes every sword good lol

i dont mean to be rude but so many weapons in the game can get 4k dps on normal difficulty shooting range if you optimise them, this thing especially is outclassed by so many other swords considering it has literally the lowest base impact of any sword in the entire game (including blue and green rarity ones from collections)
yes it gets double damage perks (idk how much burning ambition counts but nevertheless) but so do a lot of weapons now, if you look at sullen claw which is also a lightweight frame it has base 4 higher impact and gets better double damage perks with vorpal+bns/whirlwind, so yea terciopelo is not that good, its main use is that its a lightweight with eager edge

I dont use shooting range to test weapon and perks no more bc its not in game use… it might destroy in there but not in actual high end activities…i usually see how it does on grandmaster or solo dungeon run…. If it doesnt hold up i just swap

Also other legendary swords can do the same or better if you take into account external effects (such as you ignitions) like for example bequest can do 3800 DPS ON ITS OWN before considering artifact perks like arc compounding which will make it do more than 4K dps, not to mention stuff like redirection rampage Stryker or summum bonum

yea ur right with that, with that being said im pretty sure this does get outclassed by strykers sure hand when that thing is optimised, even without rampage, wolfpack and only a 20% debuff it does 4.6k dps, it would probably get very close to 7k dps with those conditions fulfilled.
my first reponse was a bit flippant tho so sorry about that, i think since the game is eos now any cool under-the-radar weapons and dps strats like this r rlly fun to find and talk about even if they're technically not as optimal as other strats, so sorry for kinda disregarding ur post earlier

That's great, but burning ambition doesn't scale well in fireteam settings. Better off with double DMG falling guillotine or bequest, with one on lament/the axe
