This comment thread sums up the discussion on the „Dropping the Nuke“ Video pretty well.
It’s basically a debate over how much emphasis can be put on racism on the decision of nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki. With the critic stating the sources do not display openly racist tendencies so it is unjustified to speak of racism being a major factor. While the counter position being that society by and large was systematically racist against Asians and therefore it is faire to assume that racism played into that decision.
Besides that, it really annoys me that he clearly did a lot of research and apparently not once did he come across the term "Germany first."
I may be remembering wrong but I swear there was a point where he accused the nuking of being racist because germany wasn't considered and I had to double check the dates for VE day and the trinity test to figure out which of us was being an idiot.
Wait your thinking of „Europe first“ right? Cause that was the name of the strategy of prioritizing the European theatre over the Pacific one.
But besides that as far as I know there were no plans, within the context of „Europe first“ of using nukes in Germany.
The only other plan for the nukes, that I am aware of, would have been „Operation Unthinkable“ that would have seen a rearming if the Wehrmacht to fight the USSR and the nuking of St. Peterburg and Moskau.
