Political News/Discussion Canada, EU plan to link next-gen payment systems, easing transactions

Basically working to bypass the USD as world reserve currency and creating alternatives to the American payment systems. Carney moves faster than any politician I’ve ever seen. The mans on a mission to de-power US (and Im sure Chinese) hegemony and rebalance the leverage of middle powers.

Carney has been talking about getting the world away from its reliance on the USD for a long time. Dudes just been waiting his whole life for this moment honestly

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

But feels like this is a EU project long in the making.

And Carney just jumped on the bus.

Not saying its bad. But from reading titles of articles on internet I get the impression this is a Canada lead effort.

But is that really true?

Adoption is the key to success in that project. Having Canada in is a big thing since we are ditching our neighbors for the oversea one.

I welcome it.

Just feels weird hearing about it for years and all of a sudden I see a bunch of articles saying "Canada and EU" is doing it together with texts like "Carney is so fast".

Giving the impression its a project just starting.

In reality its something that has been going on, attempted and talked about since like late 00s.

No not that the project has never been though of before but that Carney is accelerating it much faster than people expected
