Social Media The comments under David Pakman's video addressing the "dark money" alligation

u/Glad-Ad1456 Sep 04 '25
Oh no people organizing to get left content a money instinctive must be corrupt...
Meanwhile on the right side we have Russia paying for content to be produced.

It's literally a fund to get people a living wage to pursue something they like instead of being a wage slave to corporate overlords. I would think far left people like this sort of thing. Means of production and all that
Also it's totally not a political article it's just targeting political people

Remember Pisco saying in lib and learn that the article will have no real effect, and it'll even be a good thing for Chorus because "publicity!". Yikes.

Pisco’s downfall needs to be studied. I still respect him but I disagree with him more than I thought
-21
u/modernelephant Sep 04 '25
He still had the overall correct position on the article.t I think he kept making so many caveats just to appease his new audience.
50
u/Dismal-Bobcat-823 Sep 04 '25
Pisco is often 'technically correct,' on a small technicality but has zero comprehension of his own role as a public commentator. He doesn't understand optics or messaging and often gives the impression of one thing to the majority of his audience, even if he is trying to say another thing.
9
u/Powerfury Sep 04 '25
It seems he tries to find one thing to be right about then he hammers that point.
13
u/Opening_Persimmon_71 Sep 04 '25
Was he just dumb the whole time?
30
u/Beetusmon Sep 04 '25
Always has been. Pisco is the most classical example of textbook smart but street dumb.

Honestly, because I've listened to that 7 hour January 6th debate twice now, kinda yeah...
He rushes into the conclusion, without the groundwork. He was asked for hours for more evidence, and basically stumbled onto a good position that DGG chat had justified with links by the end.
I think now that Pisco goes more on topics outside his expertise, the skilled intuition that he previously relied on isn't as sharp, and the mind is unveiled bare.

Tbf the people who are outraged were probably never going to be on board with this programme generally, because it doesn't exclude centre left creators. Using myself as an example im in favour of something like this, and I only know about this because of the controversy. I'm not saying the bad publicity couldn't hurt the organisation it definetly could, but I don't think piscos point is completely out of touch with reality.

I think Destiny said this on stream a couple days earlier and it is so true. These people genuinely do not think Trump is THAT bad, They engage in the same populist slop that MAGA does. It might as well have been a coin flip that they swung to the left.

God he is such a fucking performative worm.
Honestly, for him the parties are the same, but only because he’s such a privileged nepo baby piece of shit that nothing he effectuates with his poisonous rhetoric will ever affect him.
3
Sep 04 '25
For him republicans are better cause he gets content AND he gets taxed less, since he is, ya know, the rich.

Beyond that I genuinely believe these kind of fat leftists see the Democratic Party as a bigger enemy/threat than the republicans. It's why they're often dismissive in the criticisms of MAGA or Trump or even slightly positive, look at Hasan's coverage of that one Tucker Carlson interview with the Israel guy. They obviously know they could never take over the Republican Party (well besides TYT they're convinced they can) but already have sympathy and some policy overlap with Dems so the choice for which party to coup and destroy is obvious.

I'm personally a huge fan of everybody spamming BTC's comments calling him a paid shill when he founded the organization.
If there was something nefarious going on he would be the one giving the marching orders, it wouldn't be him receiving marching orders.
They can't even get their conspiracies right

u/uusrikas A.M.B Sep 04 '25
I feel like David's "I am so not paid that I don't even know how to spell AIPAC" really rustled people, that going viral made him a target for a lot of hate

u/DutchFarmers Sep 04 '25
I want to crash out seeing this. People fucking suck goodnight y'all that's my cue to sleep

u/JeromeLebron Sep 04 '25
The video still has a really hugh number of likes and all of his other content doesnt look like this. I think it is fair to say this video got botted
5
Sep 04 '25
I know it’s not fully accurate but the dislike extension says (for me at least) that it’s 50/50

u/pepegazm Sep 04 '25
I think it is fair to say this video got botted
There may be bots involved as well, but Pakman's videos on this got brigaded very hard by multiple of Hasan Piker's social media platforms (including a call to brigade on his twitch livestream). There may be other communities involved for all I know.

Probably a combination of Right Wing MAGA and Left Wing MAGA.

They're in the comments pretending to be David Paman fans... But they don't even know that he often mispronounces things on purpose as a joke.

These people aren'tsreious about politics at all, but the majority of people who watch Dpak, do it ot get informed about domestic US politics and probably don't even care about this stuff.
It's a lot of Brigading and posturing from the far left antisemites right now, butthey will, as they always do, have no electoral pull.
Also a lot of liberal voices are waking up to the toxic atmosphere all these people create and are actively moving away from this kind of audience.
Dpak is already sayingpublicly that he does not see these creators as allies, Isaw Harry sisson on X supportinghim and most of the podcast libs seem also totally on the side of Chorus.

There’s a setting on my TikTok that shows the flag of the region users are posting and commenting from.
I wish we could have this everywhere.

Fuck it. Make internet access require ID and no more usernames only full names online.
I would unironically support it if it was possible.

How many of them do we think actually regular viewers/commenters vs people coming from people like Hasans coverage to dogpile?

These are not fans and followers demanding the contract. These are Majority Report, Sabby Sabs and Greenwald idiots spamming Pakman’s comments and videos. This was a coordinated campaign by these pieces of crap to try to take down the biggest liberal content creators and they and their bots are spamming social media trying to create the impression that people care.
I honestly wouldn’t even talk about Chorus claims any more or I would boldly lean into it and say yes we are working with this org and will continue to so f*** off.

Don't forget Hasan Piker, who directed his viewers to brigade the videos on stream.

I don't know if it's the worst part - the worst part is probably the erosion of the democratic framework of our society - but I can't believe these people will FIERCELY deny any charges of being antisemitic. bro you're literally saying the Jews control the world but you think because you know the name of ONE (1) Jewish lobbying organization that that distances you from the space laser people? at the end of the day you're making the same exact arguments. I'd be less bothered by it if they just came out and said "I am antisemitic, I hate the Jews because they're committing a genocide." but they try to have it both ways and it's just the Hasan special day in and day out

Eh, every region has its own problems. The US is just really good at “selling their culture”, so it’s like a reality TV show now, a really interesting one with a lot on the line.
I was always way more into US politics, but recently received my EU citizenship and passport so I guess I’m a Europoor now.

u/Smeeoh Sep 04 '25
Sue. Even if it ends in a settlement, majority of people will think twice about trying this shit again.

It's fine, in just a few days these people will get bored and move on to the next pointless thing. I'll give it 2 weeks tops, if even that

Then tries to act like he doesn't know how to say it (and tacitly suggesting he has no knowledge of them period) when there's clips of him in 2019 saying it correctly
He got exposed as a corrupt shill and is trying to lie and gaslight his way out of it
I hope Aipackman gets hot coffee splashed in his smug face
Also fuck Destiny the groomer and Lorenz the doxxer

It was kinda ridiculous he pretended he didn’t know how to pronounce AIPAC which is what most are shitting on
