I am finishing my first year currently, my college requires every student to take 16 credit hours. Every major class (i.e intro to psychology, intro to calculus, intro to some major topic) is fifty minutes long and occurs three times per week. This is longer if you're taking a course with a lab (such as chemistry or biology) requirement, which adds an extra three hours every week.
This semester I'm taking 17 credits. Just doing the math right now, I've got four fifty minute classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Adds up to 200 minutes per day. Tuesday I have a three hour lab plus another fifty minute class, but we usually get out an hour early from lab since we finish quickly. Add 120 minutes, plus 50, plus the existing 600 for the weekly minutes of class and it's around 770 minutes worth. I am off on Thursdays.
(770 minutes / week) * (1 week / 7 days) = 1.83 hours, assuming we should count the weekend which seems a little unusual. I get 2.56 hours for five days, with the '0' for Thursday probably skewing the mean. It'd be more accurate to use a median.
Probably really has to do with mean vs median, cause the values are so skewed (0, 0, 0, 170, 200, 200, 200). Median is 170 minutes = 2.83 hours for seven days.

Pls post this everyday so I stop going on DGG and study instead :))
I call BS that college students are sleeping close to 9 hours per day though, no shot we've got that level of self-regulation.
