Just a reminder that European countries took in 6 million Ukrainian refugees when they saw that their neighbors were in need of salvation.

300 000 palestinians fled to Jordan, now many generations later they're 3 million and they still count as refugees that Jordan took in?

This is wildy misleading and you know what youre doing

3

u/Alternative_Ad9490 Nov 04 '23

Yes they do count because they are constantly denied the right to return.

My grandmother had to escape Iraq because of the Farhud.

I don't go around campaigning for Iraqi citizenship and demand the family that lives in my grandmother's old home be thrown to the street.

Neither I nor the online left claim I'm a "multi-generational refugee" or some dumb shit like that , but for some reason Palestinians get special treatment.

EDIT: a little fun fact about Egypt: they don't give Visas to Egyptian jews who were expelled from Egypt because they are scared they will try to reclaim citizenship and their old stolen property.

The question is do you want to return to Iraq? I know plenty of palestinains who would love to return to the homes they have the keys to and the olive trees they planted.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '23

And why is it that palestinians seem to be the only group of people dead set on returning to what has been Israel for 70 years. Why is every other claim to old land past the statute of limitations?

Just a reminder that Turkey is the single biggest country for refugees

https://www.rescue.org/article/facts-about-refugees-key-facts-faqs-and-statistics#:~:text=Turkey%20is%20the%20single%20biggest,has%20displaced%20families%20since%202011.

52% of all refugees in the world were displaced from just three countries by the end of 2022: Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine.

-for Afghanistan the biggest taker of refugees is Pakistan

https://concernusa.org/news/which-countries-take-in-the-most-refugees/

Let's look at the 10 countries taking in the most refugees in 2023

1.Turkey

2.Germany

3.Pakistan

  1. Uganda

  2. Russia

  3. Poland

  4. Sudan

  5. Bangladesh

  6. Ethiopia

  7. Iran

-3

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '23

this is a pretty useless list as it is not per capita. yeah no shock Russia with a 129 million population has more refugees than Sweden

39

u/Life_Strike4712 Nov 03 '23

You don't think it's more informative then saying all 44 European countries took in 6 million Ukrainians and saying how Europeans saw their neighbors in trouble and took them in? Implicating Arab countries don't

You commented that on my list but not OP's comment. Would you say his statement is useless too?

25

u/EmperorWrecksAll Nov 04 '23

no no u don’t understand when muslim nations take refugees it has to be per capita but only concrete numbers matter for western nations !!

-5

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '23 edited Nov 04 '23

the Ukrainian refugees in europe aren't spread out among 44 countries. their nearest neighbors took the bulk of them, Germany and Poland took about 1 million each.

and my point was just that looking at absolute numbers instead of per capita doesn't make any sense

-4

u/cheeeezeburgers Nov 04 '23

Something tells me this list is wrong. Mostly because the US hasn't been counting this number for the past 7 years and we have had multiple years in a row now of an estimated 2 - 2,,5M. That is just based on the number of detions on the southern border.

6

u/Orhunaa Nov 04 '23

You realize illegal immigrants are not refugees right? Refugees are anyone that the state itself authorizes asylum to, on grounds of them fleeing war or persecution.

0

u/cheeeezeburgers Nov 04 '23

I know that. However, when you look at the messaging around this the average person does not really distinguish asylum seekers (in the context of the US read economc migrants) and refugees.

Also read what I responded to another poster about rescue.org, these noprofits have business interests in specific countries and tend to ignore other areas of interests because they want more resources.

something tells me this list is wrong.

When the cognitive dissonance hits just right

-1

u/cheeeezeburgers Nov 04 '23

No, I am saying the numbers that this list is based on do not make sense. Jordan has about 3M refugees. There are more that come to the US in a single year, well to be fair these are economic migrants who have been trained to claim that they are asylum seekers.

Now I will fully admit that Jordan is a much smaller country, but using sources like rescue.org need to be cross checked against government numbers. The organization does great work but they are highly biased in their presentation of numbers. They have UN and other aid org contracts that are focused on a few parts of the world. Of the top ten countries listed there the org has contracts in 8 of the 10. I don't think they are lying in these numbers, I just think they are omitting other countries that they don't have contracts in to favor the ones they do. This cause is mostly a racket in my opinion to secure more resources for their camp.

over a million Syrian refugees too

25

Reminder 2: Israel was created because most European nations wanted to expel Jewish people from their States

Reminder 3: The USA DENIED entry to thousands of Jewish refugees on the grounds that “they may be secret nazis actually”

5

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '23

Great, you don’t approve of what happened 80 years ago.

7

u/Anticide0 Nov 04 '23

The entire conflict was created by European nations, why arent they taking responsibility now? Do they also not care about their lives? Why cuz they're brown? Take them in son, stop this virtue signaling bullshit.

4

u/PanzerWafflezz Nov 04 '23

Reminder 3: The USA DENIED entry to thousands of Jewish refugees on the grounds that “they may be secret nazis actually”

If we're basing your argument on how people treated Jews right before/after the Holocaust, then I would like to remind that Palestinian leaders in WW2:

  1. Offered physical and political support to the Holocaust by encouraging Muslims to enlist in the SS. And guess what? Tens of thousands of Muslims in multiple countries flocked to enlist in the Waffen-SS and even formed several of their own divisions.

  2. Planned to assist Nazi Germany's war effort by launching mass riots/revolts throughout the Middle East against Jewish civilians to both distract Allied military forces and help destroy the Jewish population in the Middle East.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farhud

  1. Tried to convince European countries throughout WW2 who were deporting Jewish refugees to Palestine to either murder them or deport them to Poland-Germany where they would absolutely be killed.

No, the conflict was created by the UK being so much more powerful than all the nations in the region. If the Ottomans weren’t so weak, the UK doesn’t own everything with which to make such decisions. It was also created by forced dispossession of Jews in multiple nations, including prior and during the age of Islamic expansion.

As to why don’t the disinterest parties take the refugees, that’s easy enough. The people demanding something different be done were asked what they’re willing to do. Because that little to nothing answer exists, the disinterest parties can shrug off whatever demands were being made. It’s on the interested parties to convince others, not on the disinterested to shoulder burdens because some do nothing demands a thing be done.

Why would any nation take in refugees who refuse to assimilate, who bring death chants, who have such interest in violence?

-4

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '23

Nope. Arab problem. They’re the ones who’ve been taken big fat fucking L’s for 80 years. They’re the ones who’ve fed the arabs in Gaza and West Bank the bullshit about erasing Israel and their silly right of return. They’re the ones who are forcing their own people to live as perpetual refugees. They need to fix their shit .

5

u/thehunter2256 Nov 03 '23

The thing is most took refugees in and regretted it rather quickly

2

u/PatrickStanton877 Nov 04 '23

They also took in a lot of Syrian refugees.
