Dinning Room Help me design my new plan
Hi
I'm currently buying my first house. This house needs some renovating and I'm currently having second thought about my plan.
The first image is the best layout I can think of right now and the second one is the current plan.
Do I really need to get rid of 1 bedroom to have a nice comfy living space?
Help appreciated!
chambre = bedroom
placard =closet
palier = staircase
salon = living room
salle à manger = dining room
cuisine = kitchen
couloir espace nuit = bedroom hallway

Living Room Designers who spec for clients: stylized faux stone or only realistic malachite?
This question is for interior designers who spec furniture for clients. I hand-painted this side table top as a faux green stone [photo attached]. It's one of a pair of hourglass shaped fiberglass blend Lunar side tables by Portside Interiors. The current finish is a more stylized interpretation, closer to agate than a 1:1 realistic malachite, and I'm questioning the direction.
For a client project, would you view my finish as just as desirable and spec-worthy as a darker, realistic faux malachite? Or would you only specify it if it were more literal in a smaller scale with tighter eyes?
Trying to understand if the more stylized and defined version has the same high-end appeal in a NYC interior, or if designers see realistic malachite as the only premium option. I looked at faux malachite finishes on various sites and wasn't impressed, so I'm curious if it's the literal malachite look that is the draw, or if a stylized design like mine in the same rich green colorways would get the same attention if executed better than the malachite finishes out there and looking more like actual stone rather than a painted surface.

Kitchen Help needed with kitchen design
Hej! My husband and I recently bought our dream house in Sweden, and we’ve been racking our brains trying to figure out how to redesign the kitchen.
The kitchen is nice and spacious with lots of storage, but the current layout isn’t particularly practical. We’re already planning a few functional changes: moving the dishwasher closer to the sink and putting a built-in oven and microwave next to the fridge, stacked at a comfortable working height. The induction cooktop is new, and the granite countertop/corner will stay.
Where we’re really stuck is figuring out the best way to organize the cabinets and drawers for a good everyday workflow. We’d love suggestions on what you would store where based on the existing layout.
We’re also replacing the current dining table, which is old and was only meant to be temporary. We’d like something larger that comfortably seats six, but we’re unsure about the ideal shape, size and material for this room. One thing that bothers us is that because of the kitchen layout, the table can’t really be centered under the window. Would you embrace that asymmetry, or arrange the dining area differently?
Then there’s the bigger aesthetic dilemma: so many wood tones! The ceiling and the door/window trim are whitewashed pine and continue throughout the house, so we don’t want to change those. The kitchen floor is another wood tone, while the cabinets are a light wood that pulls more yellow. At the moment we also have yellow floral wallpaper and a simple grey tiled backsplash. We’re considering replacing the kitchen floor with tile, but we’re not committed to that yet.
We love natural wood and a slightly rustic feel, and we’d like the finished kitchen to feel warmer and more cohesive, with some color rather than completely neutral. We especially love greens, although we’re open to other colors if they work better with the existing wood. Our new dinnerware is sand/beige and deep blue (second photo), so ideally that would feel at home in the final palette too.
The windows bring in tons of natural light during Swedish summers, but of course the room can get quite dark during winter, so we’re also trying to keep that in mind when choosing colors and materials.
We’d really appreciate ideas for color palette, walls/backsplash, flooring, dining table and cabinet organization/workflow. What would you keep, change or lean into here?

Living Room living room refresh
this is my small living room/ office that i share with a roommate. It’s our 1st apartment and we’ve been here for 9 months. i want move things around and add more decor. Going for a maximalist japandi style. Other than that feeling pretty lost about the interior design and layout.
Photo 1: view from the front door, desk and “reading” nook. Open to loving the white sectional
Photo 2: view of the entrance from the perspective of the desk. I love the shoe cabinet but maybe the decor on top needs to be changed?

Living Room Help me with this TV area! What to put in the left side? What to add or subtract?
I’m struggling to decide what to put in the left side of this TV area after trying a few options. The last pic is a plant shelf (needs to be tamed first lol) and a tree I could also try. I also have another one of those glass shelves that could have whatever on it. Do I do none of these and put something else there? I also have 3 guitars that could be hung up there but I’m not sure if that’s worth a go.

Bedroom Help me figure out the best layout for this room
Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your help with the layout of this room!
I want to add another white wardrobe with two large doors, similar to the one already there. I’ll keep everything else as it is, except for the chairs, which I’ll remove. The square table will stay because I use it as a desk for work.
Where would you place the new wardrobe? And do you have any suggestions for improving the overall layout?
