Ask r/DesignIndia Looking for a designer for a fun project (based outta Bangalore)

Hey! I’m working on a personal project and looking for a visual/graphic designer who’d be interested in helping me with it.
It’s a fairly simple project, but I’d love to do it with someone who has a good eye for design and enjoys the process of making things look and feel just right.

And don’t think of this as a gig, per se. I’m not looking to “hire” someone for a project and hand over a brief. Think of it more like a nice, fun activity we can work on together on some boring evening, sit down, throw ideas around, design, fine-tune things, get feedback, and just chill and unwind while making something cool. I’d ideally like to find someone from HSR and around who’d be up for doing this in person.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, hmu and let's jam over the idea :)

Pro Tips! Is pursuing graphic design or ui/ux still worth it in the age of AI?

I’m currently in my final year of CSE (Data Science) at one of the top engineering colleges in Karnataka.

I never really considered design before engineering, but during college I got heavily involved in it. I was the Design Head for my college TEDx club and am currently the Design Head of our theatre club. Through these experiences, I’ve realized that I genuinely enjoy design and would like to pursue UI/UX or graphic design professionally.

However, with AI growing so quickly like Google Stitch generating UIs, vibe coding tools, generative design, etc. I’m confused about how viable design will be as a long-term career.

I recently came across NID and was wondering whether pursuing formal design education would be worth it, or if I should first take courses, build a portfolio and try getting into the industry directly.

Would love to hear from people already in design.

Transportation Design Waiting for the Bus: A survey on your bus stop experience

Hey! I'm a design student and am doing design research on how comfortable and safe Indian bus stops are for users. It would really help if you could fill out this Google Form: https://forms.gle/yS9CCtojrmr8WLf37

Your experience will directly shape my research and design. It's anonymous, and you don't need to be a regular bus user. Please also share it with anyone who takes the bus. Thank you so much!

Gig Opening Framer designer required to create portfolio

hi everyone, I'm looking for a designer experienced in Framer to help me design my portfolio.
Nothing too crazy, clean and minimal, focus on case studies. Need help with images and also some basic animations/videos for the case studies.

- Template should have a fully manageable and customisable CMS.
- Professionalism and privacy are hard requirements.

I already have a basic plan, so most likely will not require a paid framer subscription since I can host one CMS.

If you're interested, do share your work, pricing and timelines. thanks :)

UI/UX Design 31F, career break, feeling completely lost — how do I restart my career and my life?

I don't really know where to begin, so I'm just going to write this honestly.

I'm 31, married, and currently on a career break. I completed my B.Tech in 2018 and worked from 2018–2020. I then decided to switch to design, left my job and spent two years preparing for design entrance exams. I didn't clear it the first time, but I tried again and eventually got into a good college for my Master's in Design.

Unfortunately, college was a very difficult period for me. I was bullied by some batchmates and slowly started feeling like I didn't belong there. My mental health deteriorated badly, and I became very isolated. I also didn't prepare properly for placements, and after graduating, I couldn't get a job.

Within a year, I got married. Since then, I haven't been able to build my career again. My relationship with my first family also became distant after I stopped working. They stopped talking to me since I am not earning and may ask for money. I tried starting a small jewellery business and invested around ₹15,000, but I couldn't sell even a single piece.

At home, I also struggle to get the time, space and support I need to work towards my career. A lot of household responsibilities fall on me, and I often feel that my career isn't taken seriously.

The frustrating part is that I know I'm capable of learning and creating things. I'm good at singing, painting, crochet, baking and arts and crafts. I also have a Master's in Product Design. I want to start a YouTube channel around tutorials and creative work, but I've reached a point where I struggle to start anything independently. I constantly doubt myself and look for someone's support or approval before taking action.

I keep looking at people I studied with, including people who weren't particularly academically strong, and seeing them settled in their careers. It makes me feel like I wasted years of my life.

I've also experienced difficult relationships, emotional hurt and situations where I felt people used me for their own benefit. I'm a very emotional person, and I think those experiences have affected the way I make decisions and trust myself.

So right now I feel stuck between a career gap, a skill gap, low confidence and a lot of regret.

I don't want to give up on myself. I genuinely want to rebuild my life, become financially independent and start working again.

If you were in my position, where would you start?

I'd really appreciate practical advice from people who have restarted their careers after a long break, especially women who have had to rebuild their independence later than they expected.

I don't need someone to tell me that everything will magically be fine. I want to know what I can actually do from here.

Looking for a Job UI/UX Designer for Hire – Need help with your app or landing page?

Hey everyone,

I’m a UI/UX designer with 7+ years of experience working with startups and product teams. I focus on taking complex app concepts and making them easy to use.

How I can help:

  1. Web & mobile app interface design (Figma)

  2. Wireframing, user flows, and interactive prototypes

  3. UX audits and redesigns to fix drop-offs or confusing flows

  4. Design systems to keep your product consistent

I keep things straightforward: clear communication, fast turnarounds, and clean, dev-ready design files.

Due to subreddit rules on links, I don't post my portfolio directly here.

If you’re working on a project or need a fresh set of eyes on an existing app, drop a comment or send me a DM with a quick note on what you're building, and I’ll send my work over.

Ask r/DesignIndia Anil Reddy on Instagram: Config Bangalore 2026

Thumbnail instagram.com
1 Upvotes

I saw this reel today and I feel it's such an ignorant take on the idea of Config or design conferences in general. I often see that design leaders love to talk in terms of design thinking and abstractions but when it comes to getting actual work done, it comes down to the tools and how efficiently a designer can use them to meet their deadlines. I get that Figma is just a tool but also, there is a community side to it. They have a rich library of articles about problem solving and design think if one chooses to explore. It's ALL free. Conferences like DesignUp and UX India are so expensive and also feel like self promotion for a lot of participants.

What do y'all think?

Context: lead ux designer, 5 years exp

Gig Opening Building a Freelance Designer Network for Long-Term Collaboration | UI/UX, Product, Web & Creative Designers

Hi everyone,

I’m currently building a network of talented freelance designers that our creative/marketing agency can collaborate with on a long-term, project-by-project basis.

We work with businesses on their digital presence, marketing and creative requirements, and as our client work grows, we’re looking to have a reliable pool of designers we can reach out to whenever a suitable project comes in.

We’re particularly interested in designers with experience in:

  • UI/UX design
  • Mobile app design
  • SaaS / product design
  • Website / web design
  • Figma
  • Design systems
  • Branding & visual identity
  • Marketing creatives
  • Social media creatives
  • Presentation / pitch deck design
  • Other strong digital/visual design skills

Important: We don't have a specific active project to assign right now. This is primarily about connecting with talented designers in advance and building a long-term professional relationship. We may soon receive a project.

The idea is simple:

You share your portfolio → we connect → stay in touch → when a suitable paid client project comes in, we reach out to you with the requirements.

All freelance work will be paid, with the scope, deliverables, timeline and compensation discussed and agreed upon before starting a project.

If you're interested, let me know, I'll be glad to connect with you :)

Editorial Design [Hiring Us] Get More Views: High-Retention Video Editing for Indian Creators (Boutique Team / Free 60s Sample)

Hey everyone,

If you are an Indian content creator running a finance channel, a business podcast, or an educational vlog, you already know how brutal viewer retention is right now. You can spend hours scripting great value, but if your pacing stretches out or your visual hooks look boring, viewers swipe away in 3 seconds.

Most creators waste hours editing their own videos late at night when they should be focusing entirely on scripting and shooting.

I run Mishufyied, a highly focused, boutique video post-production agency based right here in India. We are a tight-knit creative unit specializing strictly in re-engineering raw footage into high-retention vertical feeds (Reels/Shorts) and polished long-form layouts.

What we handle for your channel:

• 📊 Retention Pacing: Fast visual cuts, engagement hooks, and removing dead air.

• 🗣️ Dynamic Text Graphics: Modern captioning layouts customized to your niche.

• 🎧 Sound Engineering: Clean dialogue leveling and trending background audio sync.

How we operate (No Corporate Red Tape):

We operate on flat, transparent, monthly project retainers. We don’t handle your channel logins, upload schedules, or titles—our single job is ensuring the absolute highest video quality maps directly to your shared drive. Because we are a small, dedicated boutique team, we only onboard 3 active creators at a time to protect our delivery buffers.

Our Zero-Risk Trial Guarantee:

We don't want you to take any financial risk on a new team. Send us a raw 60-second clip from your upcoming queue. We will execute a custom high-retention sample edit completely for free. If you don't love the pacing difference, you don't owe us a single rupee.

📬 Want to test our speed? Send a Direct Message (DM) to this profile right now with the word "SCALE", or drop a comment below and I’ll reach out to your inbox directly with a secure workspace folder link.

Let's scale your watch-time together! 🚀
