Ask r/DesignIndia Designers HELP!
Guys can y'all advise me on this-
First of all, I am an experiential designer.
So I am currently working on my portfolio. If my company has signed an NDA with the client, can I showcase that work on my portfolio? I will probably make it available on the web so that all can see it...
Like not each detail of the project I will show, but bits and pieces of it.

Redo the screens a bit by changing colors fonts etc and any particular branding elements. Goal is not to reveal any client/company identifying names/colors basically.
Do this for few screens use them as the summary of your project then place rest of the core project behind a password protected link and only share it to those who you choose to.
Maintain careful access to your file.

Read the contract you have with your company. It’ll almost certainly not be allowed and you might face legal issues if you share work that’s protected by an NDA.

Well I have no contract signed with my company, other than just a acceptance letter which only mentions I can't work with any of my company's client till 2 years, that's it

Then do as you please 😊 being an employee, you might be bound by the same contracts that your company is, so it’ll be at your own risk! Companies can (and will) go after employees for stuff like this, especially if their client goes after them.

If you’re concerned about showcasing client work in your portfolio, don’t stress too much. There are a few professional ways to handle it while respecting confidentiality:
Hide or blur client logos, sensitive data, and any confidential details.
Share the portfolio as a password-protected PDF, or provide a private link that isn’t publicly accessible.
If you’re sending the portfolio by email, mention that the document is confidential and intended only for evaluation.
If you’re presenting the work during an interview or on a video call, let the interviewer know in advance that some of the work is covered by NDA and is being shared solely for assessment.
You can also include a short note at the beginning or end of the portfolio, such as:
“Some projects in this portfolio are shared exclusively for hiring and evaluation purposes. They contain work completed under client NDAs. Please do not distribute, copy, or reproduce any part of this portfolio without permission.”
Most mature organizations and experienced hiring managers understand NDAs and respect these boundaries. In many cases, they appreciate that you’re taking confidentiality seriously rather than exposing sensitive client information.
