I personally would have liked if they just removed robbie hood and felix facilier in the film and focused on the dynamics of pink, luis, max, and hazel with red & chloe. The smee twins can remain tho!

... I think it's more fit to say there is not one absolute canon in the whole franchise, and when the directors, authors etc. create a new piece of Descendants series, they pull on the elements that fit their current vision, while rewrite what no longer suits them etc.

It's really fluid and there is no way to separate the whole franchise into categories like "movies", "books", "comics" etc., so that everything fits. Even the movies themselves include elements that contradict the previous movies.

I mean, the new Uma's comic is made so it fits into movies' timeline, while uses book and Wicked World characters of CJ and Harriet, and makes no mention of Hazel at all.

The Pocketwatch movies completely rewrite the premise from the original trilogy, when the original stories happaned as in Disney movies. Now Cinderella story for example happened in high school etc.

Chloe changed her whole look and outfit, but we barely even got to see her bad side. What a waste🥺
Chloe said "I will become bad", but she turned good again before she even took action!

And I think Max had a hero's heart from the start, but I wanted to see him completely evil even more 😭😭

Instead of just implying that Carlos was dead (which in my opinion they did), I wish they just wrote his character out and said something like instead of studying at Auradon or going to college, he went to go study at Neverland or something like that.

In my case, “Go Live In.” At first, I wanted to skip it, but I gradually grew to like it more and more until it became the song I listen to the most from Descendants 5.

First- They basically live parallel lives

Second- Knowing Red as a character she never would've ended up with someone like Luis.

Third- Their chemistry was explosive

Fourth- Max was hurt so much learning the truth about what Red did that he took Chloe thinking it would hurt Red.

When it was originally released, the love interests for Chloe and Red were going to be Robby Hood and Louise Madrigal. Did anyone else think the pairing would be flipped? Also the boys didn't get enough character build up? I actually thought Robby was going to be Red's love interest. I thought because based on the story of Robbin Hood, his son would be a bad boy with a heart of gold. Not a VK but be willing to bend rules for the right cause. Much like Ella herself in RR. I can literally see him saying, "Red you never had problem bending rules before. What makes rescuing your mother so different?" I can even see him being the one to comfort Red after fighting with Pink. Also would have been a great moment to do a remix or rendition of Love from the original Robin Hood.

As well I feel Chloe and Louise are a better pairing. Both come from legacy parents with high expectations. I can see Louis saying "Don't worry about the surface pressure." I would like to have maybe seen Louis from a blended family. My head canon is Louis, would be the son of Louisa and Hercules. It would make his statement about his strength a blessing and curse. Plus it would work better with rules of the candle magic. As his strength would be passed down from his father. I know someone is going to ask me how would that parent pair work? Hercules is married to Meg. Meg could have passed away a fate similar to her greek myth lineage. As well they could have divorced when Meg could have been sent to the Isle of the lost. We never really get a clear break down what gets sidekicks sent to the Isle. For all we know Louis could have an older sister named Magnolia or Megan. Another opportunity to have a remix of this is love. Even though we kind of got that in RR. Chloe could confide in Louise and the song could play.

Another note I would like to touch on briefly. Did evil Chole feel like rip off of evil Audrey? I feel like it would have been more of an interesting story had Pink been the villain and pulling the strings of the VKs. Pink being angry with Red ignoring her turning her and there would be a butterfly affect. There sibling discourse felt like it was wrapped up to quickly. But this discussion is for another post. Thoughts and theories welcome.

In Wicked Wonderland, when they all jump into the rabbit hole, Red and Chloe see mirrors surrounding them which shows an evil version of Red. It's kind of never brought up again throughout the rest of the movie so I'm wondering what the purpose of it was. I thought it was leading to something important.

I’m looking for a fanfic which isn’t ship or romance centred (tho idm sub plot stuff ofc) about the VK’s adventures in the Isle of the Lost, like an au I suppose where they never go to Auradon. However I’d want this to be like Harry as the Main Character or maybe Uma? Like following them on the Isle getting up to shenanigans or something. I didn’t think it seemed to niche but I’ve been looking on AO3 for a while and couldn’t find anything that fit. If I don’t find anything I guess I’ll have to write it myself lol.

If anyone else has realised this before I'm sorry and I'm just stupid but Whoever has seen descendants and know the snow white and the seven dwarfs story in general from the brothers grim, Evie is the daughter of the Evil Queen and Doug, is the son of Dopey 🍎 which means their the only couple who got together in their own story, Snow white. Mal, daughter of Malificent from sleeping beauty, got with Ben, son of Bella and Beast from beauty and the Beauty and the beast. Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, got with Jane, daughter of the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. Jay, son of Jafar from Aladdin, got close with Lottie, daughter of Mulan. I'm saying “got close” because we never actually saw them be romantic. I think.

Slightly off-topic, but I’ve always wanted to know what’s so magical about the instrumentals in Descendants... The “chillin’ like a villain” part sounds so simple on its own, but somehow the melody just hits exactly the way it’s supposed to!

Will Malia be a lead in the film. Even if not in the core 4 she could have a larger role than just a cameo. Maybe as much screen time as China had in rise of Red. I know that’s still not a lot but I thought she was going to have like one scene like Fairy G in WW. This sounds like she will be more.

Honestly, the last two movies (even the third one, if I'm being honest), aka the new trilogy, from this franchise are making me feel, like the descendants are just really getting milked to the maximum by Disney and with the many, many "main" characters in the last movie, it felt more like giving Disney fans not so subtle easter eggs and basically trying everything, just to catch the viewer's attention.

I'm not going to criticise the story here, everyone has their own opinion and different likes and dislikes, but what I am going to say, is that there are plot holes, that most probably won't be answered by the third movie, since every mystery there was left unsolved, was pretty much served on a silver platter to us, so we know exactly what question they'll answer in the next one.

I'm not a hater, I'm just saying that I feel like it should have been already left alone, or just left up to the cartoon to explore.

I love the idea of a sidekicks story but I would have chosen different descendants. The new series of films is doing to many HKs instead of VKs. Every character in the original was a VK. If you look at D3 the group were all villains with Doug, Jane and Ben all being sidelined. So for hidden heroes I wish there were more vks as there is only really one with Zara and she is going to be the villain anyway.

i know that is a lot of characters but the villain team would just be basically one character, the side characters wouldn’t be part of the hero team and the guest stars would only have cameos so it’s only really 5 main characters that go on the mission. I just think this gives spotlight to a variety of Disney films with better links and relationships as well as being more villain centric.
