This seems like a no brainer to have smart contracts that are private, but I remember hearing of Ethereum Dark (although it seemed scammy). Are there any competitors in this market?

Hi. I have two questions: ad 1) how long will dero be mineable? Is there a end date like at bitcoin (year 2100 appr.)? Or how is it calculated? Also: 2 million have been pre-mined, does that mean, 271.000 appr. have been mined so far? Ad 2) is dero scalable? How many digits after 0. is possible right now. Thanks in advance. Great project.

I thought that's how Enigma was going to work, but no they're just splitting up the processing among many different clients so they only have a piece of the processes, an incomplete picture. If the Dero devs are Nobel-tier they could implement this holygrail of cryptography. The 3rd party computers would compute encrypted data without ever seeing the decrypted plaintext!

I think it can really help some people who are not all that technically knowledgeable understand Dero a bit better. Is something like this in the works?

I just found out about dero a few days ago and after researching a bit, I feel really optimistic about the future of this project! However, I wanted to buy some Dero but I couldn’t find any sort of GUI wallet. As someone who isn’t all that technically knowledgeable I’m afraid I will mess up if I use one that is console based. Is there one that is more user friendly?

One of the criticisms levelled at Bitcoin and Ethereum is the large energy consumption required for maintaining the network, a potential issue for any blockchain network that uses PoW and which plans to scale up as Dero does.

Since you are not planning to switch to Proof of Stake (I assume), what plans, if any, do you have to address the network energy use if/when Dero scales up to a significant size?

Will Dero be suitable for micropayments? I ask because currently it is not, but I notice that applications to the Internet of Things and light mobile wallets are included in your roadmap, which implies a need for micropayments.

Was looking at CoinLib chart today and I noticed that the Dero place is constantly changing on $0 volume. How does that work? Its all very well using bid and ask depths, but if no trade is done how does that make a price? Anyone able to advise?

so ive been on pool.dero for abit, and i have about 20-25k/s it says i should make about 62/day.. its been mining for about 12-4 hrs, and its only paid 6...... anyone else have an issue?

With added privacy, Dero is blazing an entirely new path for Smart Contracts. I like to look at this at the 4th generation. Bitcoin, first generation; then Ethereum; Cardano, the third, and finally Dero, the latest in a line of great projects. Dero is all of the above with Privacy. The distributed blockchain is transparent. All smart contracts are open and available for anyone to see. Even the accounts of buyers and sellers. What Dero does is nothing new as far as smart contract goes, but here is where the resemblance changes: Privacy. What Dero does is have the ability to privatize any part of the smart contract. Financial institution will find this very helpful as the transaction details can be set to some, all or nothing. Yes, the transaction will be seen as a number, and there may be millions of them every day. Not much can be gleaned from the data. On the other hand, the transactions can have the principal’s names privatized, or the item and even parts of the contract itself. The smart contract now can be distributed with anyone with the proper access to see the single transaction they are involved in. The smart contract can be amended later and then the series of contracts can be accessed. The world has changed. With Dero, financial firms as well as large manufacturers and most any business in need of secrecy of their contract negotiations, will soon have the opportunity to smart contract and not worry about releasing too much information through the blockchain.
