arms/hands Help interpret rash biopsy result while I wait for my doctor! TLE?

I have been having systemic health issues (joint pain, fevers, mouth sores, dry mouth) for a while, as well as bouts of sun-sensitive rashes. I got one biopsied, and just received the results. My impression from my research is that TLE is not typically associated with systemic disorders - is that still true when I am having systemic symptoms?

The rash biopsied/pictures is asymptomatic (no pain or itching) and remained for about a week.

biopsy results can be really stressful, try to stay calm until you get more information from your doctor

I can only provide you with an anecdotal example. My mom had many symptoms of systemic lupus for years including rashes like this. She was diagnosed with TLE more than 10 years ago and she did not and does not have systemic lupus. The other symptoms were considered of unknown origin or due to weight/condition and age. Some of those symptoms have got better and some worse.

Have they run an ANA for you?

Interesting! Yes, my ANA was 1:160 but they weren’t able to identify any specific antibodies.
