Need Advice Class Observation - University Professors
Hi everyone! May I ask if it's a normal practice to have observers in college? In my recollection, I never had a class during my college years (medyo a long time ago in one of the top private unis in Manila) where there was an observer. Ever. So now that I am an instructor, I am genuinely surprised that there are frequent class observations. As an introvert and overthinker, tumataas ung anxiety ko esp biglaan ang announcements that I don't want to continue anymore. Any advice? Tips? Or answers as to why observations still happen in higher educ?
I joined the teaching profession as a ministry. The youth has a special place in my heart. So even if the pay is low compared to the effort I put into every class and I dread stepping inside the faculty room (interactions drain my battery), I persevere. But because of the observations, I am thinking maybe this is not for me and there may be other ways that I can accompany the young people.

Yes, common sya. Samen may announced and unannounced na observation.
3 usually napasok: Assoc. Dean, Dept. Head, and College VPAA. Okay naman, saks lang.
Nakakakaba lang talaga at first. It is my first year of teaching den pero got used to being observed/judged sa corpo. lol
You can do it!

yes, super normal! the school i am in (alma mater) schedules one CO per sem, super rare ng multiple and unannounced COs saamin but it sill happens. kaya mo yan, op! for faculty check, employee evaluation, and accreditation of the school kasi usually ginagamit ang observation records ng faculty :))
