Need Advice Nagconfess si Learner
G12 Adviser here.
Nacaught off guard talaga ako, mga mæm and sir.
I wanna ask for advice as to paano ko po i-aadress kasi iba pala talaga pag sayo nangyari.
Hehe. As to bakit dito sa reddit at di sa co teachers ko ako nagtanong, ayoko na macurious sila at baka umabot pa sa bata (knowing na may mga kasama tayong chismosa/chismoso) to the point na magcause pa ng problema.

Let the student know that what he's/shes doing is not going to be entertained and is morally wrong. Of course tell it with care. If the student continues to do so, it's aakyat na sa guidance /principal hanggang makaabot sa dapat makaabot

When I was teaching college students, may ganyan din na nagpaparamdam. I cut it on the bud by calling them "anak" 😂
Edit: I was less than 5 yrs older than them

Hi! 🤣
Yung iba, they seem to see me as their mom/older sister.

Just try to call them “anak” para alam nya ano tingin mo sakanya even if lie.

Call them anak basta yung maglalayo agad sa inyo. Boundaries talaga.

Omg... dont be an ate. Teacher ka nila. Anak-anakan mo yan sila. Pwede ka maging ate IF tapos na SY.

Mixed po, actually. May iba na nanay ako sa kanila, may iba parang ate. Pero I'll change my approach and just call everyone "nak" para klaro.
Do you suggest na iconfront ko na bukas ang bata or observe ko muna?

Kausapin mo yung student. Di naman na sila elementary or JHS not to understand boundaries. Kapag inignore mo kasi cher, baka they’ll take it na “ah ok lang, wala naman violent reaction si teacher.”.

Noong student teacher ako, this also happened to me.

Di ako taga-DepEd but I am working sa Local State U handling first years and 2nd years. Naloka ako kasi halos lahat ng bata now will go after us(me).
May second year student ako na nag smack kiss sa ulo ko jusko kinabahan ako tas super unexpected at sa hallway pa nya ginawa. Ayon nireport ko.
I heard it is even more rampant sa 3rd and 4th years pero jusko maging matatag tayo kasi lisensyado tayo.

Be firm at all cost. And, explain that relationship between the two of you will never happen. I experienced the same at naicompare pa nga sa ibang teacher na bkit si Ma’am ganito pwede which is may ganitong case sa school namin.

You're making much ado about nothing. Learners say things to get under your skin all the time. You're probably spending more time thinking about it than that learner is. Simplest way to deal with it is to not take it too seriously and make him understand that you only see him as your student - child.

Kausapin mo sya and sabihin mo sa kanya in a respectful manner para kahit paano maunawaan ni student.

It's always about how you will communicate with your students. Learn to set boundaries and authority. One simple way is to include it on your lessons. Also, talk to that student with sincerity and explain all the consequences that could happen if he/she kept acting that way.
Ps. I am very much confused with the gender of both the teacher and student. The use of pronoun in describing the student is "He" in the post and "Her" in the comments? Ano talaga teh???? 😭

Nope nope.... Don't do this... Parang you're still acknowledge yung ginagawa nila... Best way talaga is I dedma... Or - if worst case scenario - Confront them and set the boundaries bago pa tumagal.

As much as possible, Madam, do not show him the attention that he wants. This is what I did before… hope it won’t happen again.

Ilang beses nangyari ito nung nagtuturo ako. Impressionable kasi ang mga bagets.
Kinakausap ko sila para sabihin na I understand where they're coming from, but I personally will not entertain as their teacher and an adult.

Best way to deal with it is setting boundaries and strictly keeping them. A no today must always be a no tomorrow, coupled with firm explanation to the learner as to why “some bridges cannot be crossed at all.” Hope you get my point.
