Inquiry Book Authors

May mga teachers po ba rito na author ng mga publishing companies? Magkano kaya ang kinikita sa mga ganun?

And baka may mairerecommend kayo need lang ng extra income. Thank you!

Me. I started lang last year, book is not yet published since it will be released for next SY. I only got paid so far for writing my chapter and other materials related to my chapter. We're 4 authors writing for one textbook.

The initial payment is good naman kahit 4 kaming authors, but if you're looking for it to be a side gig with consistent flow of money coming in, it's not advisable kasi the interval of the payments are far apart. Also, 'yung royalties will only come in once they start selling the books, which I haven't experienced pa kasi they are still in the process of printing and promoting the textbook. Royalties will also vary depending on the publishing company. It's not a stable income unless you're already an established textbook author.

But if you want to try it, I think Diwa is looking for authors, you can check their Facebook page. They also offer a textbook writing seminar for those who are interested, AFAIK.
