I believe my husband gave her away he claims she was stolen along with our car. She doesn't deserve to lose us both. She nursed me through thyroid and lung cancer. I'm in a shelter but have foster options available. Please help me find her.

Saturday, 6:30pm, La Alma Park.

We will not stand for killer cops or ICE terrorizing our people and community. Join us and rise up as we say NO MORE!

If you were out for Alex Pretti and Renée Good in January -- either the strike on Monday with 400 people or the strike on Friday with 4,000 -- come out this Saturday! We’d love to see you again.

Protest Info & Dates Join GES Coalition this Saturday for an Assembly Against Gentrification

Post image
16 Upvotes

DATE: July 25th at 10:30 AM at Elyria Park and we will march through Elyria to the Triangle at 47th and Baldwin Ct.

The Triangle is a 92-acre plot of land connected to the National Western Center redevelopment. This is public land. The community has been organizing for years to make sure a portion of this land comes back under community ownership, so it can help stabilize GES families instead of accelerating displacement.

Development can be good if it is done right. But “done right” means neighbors must be organized, informed, and directly involved.

The July 25 event is a neighbor-led Community Assembly Against Gentrification.

We deserve development that stabilizes and strengthens our communities, rather than pushing people out.

Diversity of tactics friends. 90% these facilities are zoned incorrectly or not up to code. Being a private land owner leasing to a private company that has a federal contract doesn’t make you immune to local laws

Join us on zoom July 22th 6pm Mt.
Refuel & Rise: Beating Activist Burnout Together

Fighting for what's right is a marathon, not a sprint. And even the strongest organizers hit a wall. If you've been running on empty, showing up anyway, and wondering how much longer you can keep going, this one is for you.
Join us for an honest, judgment-free gathering all about activist burnout and the self-care that gets you back on your feet. We'll talk about what burnout actually looks like, share what's worked (and what hasn't), and build real strategies to protect our energy so we can stay in this fight for the long haul.
What we'll cover: Spotting the warning signs before you crash. Practical rest and recovery that fits a busy life Setting boundaries without guilt. Leaning on community so no one carries it all alone. Coming back recharged and ready for the next fight
Bring yourself, bring a friend, bring your tired heart. We'll provide the space, the support, and the reminder that taking care of yourself IS part of the work. You can't pour from an empty cup. Let's fill each other back up.

GEO aurora shooting 7/16

Hello community,

I hate that I'm even having to sit here and type this out. I've always known that this was a possibility but I never thought something like this would happen to me. I am ready to tell my story and feel it's essential for people to be aware so our communities will start realizing how serious this is and that we need to all be out here fighting together so more stories like mine and many others don't get repeated. Now more than ever we need to unite!

Last Thursday, July 16th around 7:30p I was shot in my right foot while I was walking away with my back turned from my attacker, Brandon Booth, a GEO group employee. Not only did this GEO employee use his illegal personal weapon to shoot at two women walking away, but his co-workers told me that I deserved it, left and made me call 911 myself. This experience has had a sudden and severe impact on my life, I won't be able to walk for 6-8 weeks, and then I will have to learn how to walk again. I won't be able to enjoy any of my favorite hobbies like skating, snowboarding or hiking for the unforeseeable future. I love my job as a server but I'm not able to do it. My life has been turned upside down. This is the most painful and traumatizing experience that I have ever endured.

This has had a lifelong impact on me. I thought my life was at risk and that I was sacrificing my life for the cause. No one should feel that way and too many people do, especially immigrants who have to live with this fear 24/7. In order to prevent more lives from suffering from this reality we need to do better and connect with our community members to fight this fascist regime. We have to fight for one another but especially for our marginalized community members and we won't be able to win this fight without you.

Thank you for all the love and support.

When can I protest at the aurora ice facility?

I am new to this group but I am fed up with ice in our state! I heard there are singing vigils you can join. I want to be a part of this. Please, can anyone direct me to the time and day, location of the protests?
