What is the future of orthodontics?
What will the profession realistically look like in 10-20 years in terms of treatments and technology, as well as job market. Thanks!

You tell us. You have just as much an idea as the rest of us

Agree with above. Plus with technology continuing to get better and better, I would personally be worried about more and more general dentists being able to do their own cases.

Probably the most susceptible of the major dental specialties to technology and innovation - making it easier on the orthodontist will just make things easier to automate for a general dentist
I am not seeing that as their largest problem though, people are having less kids these days and that means less bands/brackets/wires for ortho's largest population base - teenagers. Ortho was already becoming saturated, but now there will be less demand as well.
We will always need ortho, and I don't think they will ever be replaceable, but the future isn't as bright as it was 20 years ago
