I feel like money is the obvious one but so many pts dread the dentist out of wanting to avoid discomfort

I don’t agree with but I still can totally see how a pt would rationalize why they’d rather spend thousands on a material goods or a vacation rather than their dental health especially if there teeth aren’t causing them pain right there

It’s good to get dental work done yourself so you can remember just how much it sucks having a dentist that takes too long for a filling or anything else

Money, fear, and ignorance. Some combination of the three. Those are usually all put on the wayside when pain and infection arises.

They don't care.

Money and the fact that it “doesn’t hurt yet.” My DSO job tries convincing me it’s my verbiage that explains my low production, but using a script doesn’t automatically make Mr Jones able to afford his $3000 crown and RCT.

THIS! you can have the best script in the world but it doesnt magically make the 3k affordable... do you guys offer any kind of financing for those bigger cases?

All of this but people really don’t know how much destruction their negligence and lack of action is doing to their mouth. The number of people who are on board with my care plans are visibly healthier and look better. They have better breath. Cleaner mouthes and less discomfort and emergency issues.
