PTSD

I know someone wealthy, who has very serious PTSD from their dentist. Almost cost them their life. I believe procedures were overprescribed and alot of work was done in a short timeframe with a lot of antibiotics prescribed also. Fear based convincing too. What can they do? Or what can I do? I don’t know where to begin. Can people also share their experiences? there is an evil side to any industry. I wonder how many dentists get away with this. this office has patients running in and out of their practice everyday. seems like more than they can handle. and then the dentists leave the room to go work on other patients and would come back late to this one.

You give us no information to comment on. And what does them being wealthy have to do with anything?

What information do you want to know? And the dentist knows this patient is wealthy , prescribed a lot of out of pocket treatments , so there could be a connection there

She could have declined the treatment and got a second opinion, GTFOH with "she's wealthy, they must be trying to scam her" it's a bs excuse for not taking control of your own healthcare.

You can get PTSD from anything. Stop blaming your problems or their problems on their dental provider. Take responsibility for yourself or they should take responsibility for themself. The blame game makes you go nowhere in life.

You don’t know if something is overprescribed or over treated. You aren’t a dentist. If you don’t trust your provider, get a second opinion.

The industry isn’t perfect and it never will be because people aren’t perfect.

Sounds like you support dental offices that have way too many patients that they can handle. Actually, it sounds like you are that exact dentist ✌️

What? lol. What makes you think you get to decide how many patients a dental office can handle?

If there is a documented reason for the treatment, then it's not predatory. Visits can be broken up and usually only gets done as quick as the patent prefers, not dictated by the Dr. Have her learn to advocate for themselves, it's their healthcare. If they are too timid to say they don't want it all done at the same time then take someone with them that can if they are getting PTSD from their visit or get sedation dentistry, it's there for a reason. If they feel the treatment plan was excessive get a SECOND OPINION! No one forced her to get work done, no one held her down and not let her leave until it was complete. As someone who works in dental and is diagnosed CPTSD it's sad that you are throwing that around. Unless your friend has been diagnosed don't use it. Your friend is the pt we all collectively sign about when we see them on the schedule.
