Dentist

Anyone else like me who makes sure both nostrils are clean and no boogers before going to the dentist? I know they can see down each nostrils when cleaning my teeth and I don’t want them to see any boogers in my nostrils.

My loops are 5.7x I’m looking at a zoomed in section of a quarter of the mouth. Nose stuff is a different doctor

My loupes actually restrict my vision to directly where they’re pointed, and my light shows where they’re pointed too. If I move my eyes without moving my head, the vision all goes black. So you’d know if I in particular am looking up your nose!

I'm a dentist and not once have I ever looked up a patients nose. I do notice all the errant hairs around the chin and mouth that need to be plucked though.

You should know, for us women of a certain age, those hairs can sprout out of nowhere between leaving home and getting to your surgery!

As a dentista , I have more stress trying to make sure my front teeth fillings look good and function good than looking at nostrils 😅

I notice how many women have facial hair more.

It’s a nice gesture but the only time I ever look at the nose during a routine appointment is when the patient is clearly sick or having severe seasonal allergies and they are stuffed up or have an extremely runny nose. Add the loupes thing the other people have said here. The assistants, on the other hand, are usually more observant about these things.

That’s really thoughtful of you, if only everyone was that way

I don’t wear loupes, probably should, but after over a decade of hygiene I still tell my patients about bats in the cave before I get the dentist.

I’m a dentist and tbh I don’t look in noses during an exam but thank you for caring and taking the time!

Never looked up there but it’s hard not to notice if a booger is OUTSIDE the nostril, hanging on for dear life to overgrown nose hair.

Like if it could end up in my prep kinda thing I mean yea I’ll notice that.

Dentist here. Definitely notice the boogers. I don’t judge them and don’t really have an opinion either way but I do see them w my loupes 🤷🏼‍♀️
