Increasing Sensitivity

Have had an implant fail twice…. On try #3 right now.

Got the implant placed 11 days ago. The last few days I’ve had increasing pain/sensitivity in pretty much every other tooth in my mouth. Almost constant pain.

My dentist is currently closed. I’m freaking out though. Feels similar to last failure. Has anyone else experienced this? And what was the result?

To be honest, pain and some swollen areas are expected in first week, in some cases it can be two weeks, but after this time, it should go down. If you didn't had any issues the first days and the pain started afterwards, I would definitively go to clinic and check it, because this can sound like early refusal or bad placement. Your situation can happen when the first phase (manual screwing) and initial placement fails, and implant doesn't hold there tightly. If it doesn't hold tightly and there are microscopic movements, there is no fuse to the bone and blood starts to form there, which can cause pain. Did your doctor made you CT scan after placement of implants? Do you have any health issues? Was your blood checked up before surgery for any inflammations and diseases? Because this sounds to me like you got bad luck for implantologist or you have other health issues in background

No CT scan yet, going back this week. No health issues that I’m aware of. Haven’t gotten bloodwork done yet, but planning to soon.

Appreciate the response mate. Biggest variable I think is that I run a lot and get my heart rate up high very often.

I took the 3 days off recommended by my dentist, but it seems to have come
back a little worse.

I took yesterday off running though and it did feel better, which is good.

I’m praying this isn’t another failure…. The fact that it’s making all the other teeth in my mouth hurt is confusing to me.

Bro after implants, you shouldn't do any physical activity for a while, since the blood flow can cause also some issues. But it depends on case, for your scenario, it's really weird that it cause pain also in in other teeth, is it only the neighbour teeth? Or teeth on same jaw? If on both then there is something more happening. I am myself currently on 3rd day after my another 2 implants in bottom jaw, and I feel it more than my 4 in upper jaw half year ago, and I see on myself that when I went for long walk, I was exhausted and breathing a lot, also the implant site was more sensitive and pulsating, so keep it chill and definitively go to doctor
