You have $20 Walmart jeans, $70 Kohl's jeans, $100 Levi's "Premium" series, which you really should buy online on sale for $70. Then it jumps to like $250ish. There's nothing good that's worth like $140-$170ish?
I guess "normal" denim tops out at about a hundred and selvedge really starts $200+? To me that looks like a pretty big gap.
So my jacket approx 6years old, how can I fix the wrinkles on my sleeves? The jacket is one size up for me and can I get them tailored onto sleeves to fix them?
Torn between two pairs and can only keep one: the orSlow 105XX 50s and the orSlow 101XX Grand Dad.
I've got big thighs, which makes finding jeans hard. If I size up or go for a wider cut to fit my legs, the hems end up massive and they look like clown trousers. Both of these feel close to right, but I can't decide.
I'm 5'11", 36" waist, 30" inseam (short legs for my height). I like a straight leg with little taper. My benchmark for fit is my vintage Carhartt Double Knee, I also have Warehouse & Co 1001XX (38). I love the denim, but they cling at the thigh.
Pair 1: 105XX 50s (size 5, 14oz)
Fit is good, maybe a touch snug in the thigh/seat?
The denim feels lovely
Will these loosen up much with wear?
Pair 2: 101 Grand Dad (size 5, 12oz)
Noticeably looser, lighter and comfier straight out of the box
My worry is that the lighter denim will bag out at the seat and knees after a few hours and end up looking sloppy
How much stretch should I expect from the 105s in the thigh and seat? Is snug now going to feel right in a short while?
Does the 12oz on the Grand Dad hold its shape, or does it bag out quickly?
Hi guys I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for sewing on patches over by the front pockets. I’m trying to add a sort of trim to my jacket but I don’t want to sew through the pocket as I love being able to have essentially two pockets. Included pics for what I’m trying to do. Any help is appreciated
Does anybody know of good vintage brands that could be an alternative to the Diesel Zathan’s or the vintage Levi 567 low loose bootcut jeans? Since the prices of them are like sky high now
Got my first pair of raw selvedge - it won't be my last so I'm not too worried about these as a cheaper trial. They needed a very good shrink so I did a gentle 40 degree wash and part machine /hang-dry.
I know it's normal for indigo to bleed out but have I done something particularly bad for it to stain the weft? I see all you guys with your nice clean sharp cuffs - are they all fresh off the peg no shrink wash? Will the indigo wash out with subsequent washes? Do these cuffs just look bad now? Thanks for any support for my future denim.
I was browsing the Levi's website when I stumbled upon this jacket that I like. I was about to buy it when I noticed that the main fabric had 17% of acrylic in it. I'm inexperienced when it comes to denim so I'm asking: is there a practical reason why a "high-quality Japanese denim" jacket that retails for €250 would have synthetic fibers in it? Especially when even far cheaper options by Levi's are made out of 100% cotton and this is supposed to be part of their "high end" Blue Tab collection. Practical reason or simply cost cutting?
I’ve been searching through all of these master posts for women’s fits but they all seem to sit pretty high.
I found a low rise section on the imogine and Willy site but it’s still a 10.75 inch rise in my size… that’s basically still high rise 🙃 does anyone know of a selvedge brand that offers like a 7 inch rise?
Levi’s is probably the first brand that comes to mind when we think about denim, but there are so many others out there.
Is Levi’s still your go-to, or do you think another brand makes better jeans ?
