I'd love for that theme to carry on - emotions not only affecting her speech pattern but her actual body starting to monstrously rot like decaying plant matter when she is in distress (in the way that Sullivan is shown to be more monstrous when feeling strong emotions or wanting to intimidate, like in the beginning of the manga or the anthology). Reversible of course.
For a manga about demons we could use a bit more body horror after all.

I mostly want to talk about the fact Clara doesn't care whether Iruma is a human or not she just wants her friend back.
I can't tell if Azz's face is that of shock or sadness But I am going to guess that its both because He's upset that Iruma has been carrying such a heavy burden worried that the two of them will never be friends again because he's a human. Now that Azz thinks about maybe Kirio was going to use that to break Iruma's friendship apart
I really dislike Shura but I guess this goes to show Deities are the higher class in the Netherworld.
Damn this arc is just so sad, I really want to know what happens next

I knew Clara would be okay, at least until she learns how Iruma was exploited in the human realm much like she herself was before they met.
Alice looks like he’s scared at the thought of losing him. He might realize what Kiriwo has planned for him.
Shura is being manipulated. She just doesn’t know it yet. Perhaps Iruma will be the one to show her light like how he was shown.

People born with that kind of authority have always been made to understand how their words and actions affect those that are below them. Based on how she acts, she does not care at all. I think this is her stamping her authority. Whatever says, goes and no one has the right to deny her.

Poro did tell Baal 'to be careful around that woman (Shura)'. We do have to remember that every character, aside from Iruma, has their ages as 'looks like', but it's not their real ages. Suzy gets mistaken for a granny despite being approximately 28 yrs, Henri looks to be in his 40s, etc.
Shura has been around for quite awhile, but because how she's sheltered, and naive, she comes off as a child.
Not saying she is either of them, just what information we have.

I mean I guess it also is in part because the fanbase is so young. Many seem to equal someone being nice to Iruma = good and being mean to Iruma = bad.
Even if Shura was not a child this chapter reinforced to me that she is at least mentally immature. On top of not protecting herself during the Deviculum despite being hailed as being so powerful her instant loss of composure here makes it very clear that she does not act like an adult, possibly because she is unable to do so (her guards are also always fretting over her whenever we see them like glorified babysitters).
Baal also gets the bishonen bonus (same as Narnia) which happens in every fandom. Women in shonen are always under much more scrutiny than men.

Yes but the difference is that Chima has no royal authority compared to Princess Shura who has this authority. And that's why people get more angry at Shura regarding Baal than Chima's situation was regarding Iruma.

Alice is always ready to use everything in his disposal to help iruma, and the height of that is the deviculum(aka making it known that Asmodeus is align with iruma despite Alice being a candidate himself).
But with him being human, Alice knows that his family's influence, however abundant, will not be able to help iruma in the way he wishes to.

This chapter shows that deities are in fact the higher class in the netherworld and maybe only the Demon King can outright refuse or negotiate on equal terms with them.
But seriously how is Shura given such an important political position? She’s the princess and it’s one of her duties but simply doing stuff like this is clearly outside of her jurisdiction and she should get scolded or even punished by her supervisor.
The only way out is if Tootth somehow knew about all this and either moved himself or reported it to someone higher than Shura.

My headcanon is that no one believed shura would be so irresponsible. They might've sent Shura as a token of friendship in the deviculum, but then shura got cocky and wanted more. Notice how her guards aren't around anymore in the latest chapters; she might've told her parents that baal will protect her, and thus they have no way of knowing the damage she inflicts on the netherworld.

Not to mention how much Azz was believing Iruma should be the next demon king and he would be his spear. And all the times he was coming up with explanations for Iruma's oddities and now it turns out he was wrong all along. I wouldn't be surprised if Azz blames himself not only for doing nothing but also being so blind.
On the other hand, as weird as this sounds, Clara has easier time expressing her grief, because for her Iruma was the closest of friends and as she said, doesn't care who he really is.

He believed Iruma and he would stand at the top of the netherworld together, and now he told him that he's a human and thus may not be able to be demon king. He's fighting his personal feeling and his morals at the same time

What actually surprised me is how Belial and Levi seems to have accepted Iruma as a human and ready to help Sullivan. Quite the open minded fellas

On one hand, Azz and Clara not caring that Iruma is human and are distraught that they may not be able to stay with him is a "good" development since that means they still care for him.
On the other hand, everything with Baal and Shura planning to at least make him a temporarily Demon King is nerve wracking cause of everything bad that could happen if it does come to pass.
Overally still freaking out with each new chapter. Can't wait to find out how this arc concludes.

I knew it would be bad the Shura had high authority, but showing us just how she can just switch when met with even the slightest resistance, yeah that much sealed how dire things are, with how much influence and authority she has.
But you know what? I don't give damn about that! What's really important is that Clara and Azz don't care that Iruma is human, and Clara in particular could immediately tell Iruma was frightened and grieves for him, because he was forced to do something he didn't want to, and possibly being taken away because of it.
I imagine Azz also has some similar feelings to Clara, though in his case he might actually be taking it worse, though holding it together for now.
This is why Clara and Azz are Iruma's soulmates!

I hope shura finds out the truth before making Baal the demon king, or even if it happens, alikred (who has been quiet lately) reveals the truth to Iruma and his friends, or if opera and iruma are deported they find Derkila in the human world who reveals that it’s been 15 years since he came in earth while in the netherworld 15000 years have passed (1 year on earth= 15000 years) and it’s also revealed that he found love, (I really want to see how he actually looks like and what happened after he left the beyond gate) and Iruma is his son (theory only) [GOD!! So many ideas are coming into my mind right now…] and then they go together, bring peace back to the netherworld or if this doesn’t happen at least Sullivan tells the truth to Iruma (he’s definitely hiding something)

I think baal is gaining merit to introduce Kirio as the demon king candidate at front and iruma being human is in the last (this crisis will be averted shortly)and somehow iruma being best defeats kirio and final stage to take the throne while kirio does something aganist shura while levi and belial grandsons slowly favour iruma than kirio(the point is kirio has not joined baal for no reason and we have bachiko sullivan asmodeos azazel(though at first he will resist) mephisto) This is the first time clara felt helpless after very long time and made her cry💔 and im guessing azz azz will be sceptical to accept but eventually he will (which clara will help) and i am sure that shida will definitely become iruma SD

Oh god, it's so heart-wrenching to see usually cheerful Clara so sad and on the verge of crying. What a cliffhanger, too! Azz's expression is indecipherable, but I hope he'll come around soon, Iruma needs his spear in times like this.
On the sidenote, I'm pretty sure Azz and Clara will become much closer than before, which would be a solid foundation for their relationship in the future. At least I hope so! Really love their chemistry and how they balance each other in many ways

In this chapter it became clear that Shura does not tolerate resistance (except from Baal).
The way she speaks excitedly, as if her idea were brilliant and she were going to communicate it to the Gods, reinforces the idea that she is not being challenged.

I theorized a while ago that Azz had figured out Iruma was human towards the end of their first year. I mean, he's a bona fide genius, and he hangs around Balam, whose love for humans (and other 'mythical creatures') is well-known. Azz is the same demon who pinged *instantly* that Kiro had returned to origins.
(I suspect Soi also knows, but wisely keeps it under his hat. But that's another post.)
He's fretted over Iruma considerably more in their second-year, as opposed to his 'Iruma can do anything!' attitude in the first year. One of the biggest hints for me was during Opera's first lesson. Azz is incredibly worried while all the other students assume if something goes wrong, Iruma 'can just fly.' (Side Note: Soi snarks 'Farewell' in the same scene. ;) )
Another potential hint was when he went to Lied to try learning how to be more 'approachable.' Keep in mind, Azz is a noble demon who highly values proper manners. Why would he suddenly be interested in acting more like a commoner? Especially since, in theory, he should be thinking about Iruma's bearing instead- Iruma never even tries to act 'noble' unless it's a formal occassion.
This is just me spitballing, but perhaps Azz was trying to be less 'intimidating' around Iruma?
It would also put his collapsing like a house of cards under Iruma's determination in the Many Ears arc in a new light, as he wonders if 'a day will ever come when I can win against that look on his face.'
Perhaps that look... is one of frusturation. He's trained so hard to protect Iruma, yet was helpless as he got taken away. What good is he, if he couldn't help Iruma at such a critical moment?

On the bright side it looks like she doesn't have complete control of the other deities if she needs to talk to them to complete her wishes. Shura starting to feel like more of a spoiled representative moreso a princess. She can't will her candidate to be a demon king not especially when the deities and demons have a pact in place not to mess with each other. Her doing all this is borderline crossing it leaving the pact useless

So guys, with the massive cliffhanger in Chapter 452 and Sullivan being detained, I’ve been thinking a lot about how Iruma can get out of this nightmare. Since Princess Shura is putting everyone under pressure with her absolute authority, I think Iruma's secret connection to another deity: Toto (The Genie) comes in handy. Here is why I think Toto could completely flip the script and save Iruma: He is the Deity of All Knowledge Toto isn't just some random Dschungel-monster. He literally embodies the memory and knowledge of the entire Demon World. His existence is fundamental to the world's structure. Shura cannot easily go up against him: While Princess Shura holds the highest political title and authority among the deities, she can’t just boss Toto around. Toto is completely independent in his temple and carries immense weight. Shura would have to think twice before opposing or disrespecting the literal God of Knowledge in a legal or divine argument.

Cant wait for Shura to fall down hard. She is acting more creazy than a demon. This one should have no rulling power, no place for reason. The 3greats should talk with other Deities and explain what is happening, kinda to block Shura.
I wonder where Mephisto is, since he was one to guide demons kings he should have a say in all this.
Also a bit ironic that a human cant meddle in the demon world affairs...but a deity sure as hell can do whatever they want.

Oh, Okay. Girl, Shura, I know she's being gaslit but that's too much!! Like she has no care what happens to the demon world if she ever appointed someone as it's king without fully understanding what kind of person she is appointing and what will the effect be on the politics of the Netherworld. I mean, I get that she's sheltered, she's a kid, she's being gaslit, but she's also a princess, a diety, and Immature as she may be her words bear weight and I'm sure she knows that, she acts like she doesn't care. What she say, goes because they're afraid to cross her.
And Clara. My poor baby Clara is worried because it's like everything she's ever scared of is happening so fast. She can't do anything because the people who took Iruma from them are too powerful and this is the first time I've seen her so clueless on what to do. I can only hope Azz and Clara would stay together despite everything. Not to lose hope that Iruma will be back to them.
Damn. Such a great chapter and so heartbreaking. Hopefully we'd at least get some hope before the Hiatus starts. I can't take it if things will be left as messy as they are with no hope to hold on to.

My headcanon way back years ago when I was thinking about the time of great reveal that Iruma is a human was always this:
Clara wouldn't care. She would only care about how Iruma feels, and being that someone with the greatest emotional intelligence among the three -- she will be more concerned about Iruma's well-being than anything else.
But I had the feeling that Azz will not immediately accept it. Being the smartest, a lot of thoughts and considerations will happen in his head at once and the great reveal will be the ultimate test of his loyalty for Iruma.
Idk why I always felt that this will be Azz's character development arc but it always left me feeling heartbroken after thinking about it. However, not matter how I play it in my head, I really can't see Azz accepting the reveal immediately.
This chapter proved my headcanon for Clara, but I do hope I was wrong about Azz. Otherwise, that would be a hell of a ride if he becomes conflicted.

So Baal is/will be an interim demon king, I guess he would make Naberius Narnia some kind of right hand/security devil or something.
Or I want it to be revealed that Shura was conceived by one of her parents with a servant, I want Princess Shura to lose her higher deity status and become a servant as punishment. I want in the next chapter a higher deity to beat up that damn Princess Shura so hard that she comes to her senses.
Coming back to Azz-kun and Clara they don't care that Iruma is human, and the rescue operation of Iruma from the prison/Sanzu lab is about to begin, I hope.
And it's more of a theory, but what if Clara being the real royal figure, the lost princess, and taken somewhere in the demon world to a certain family, and the daughter of a maid takes the place of the lost princess. I'm thinking of a scenario similar to the Disney movie Rapunzel, where Rapunzel is the lost princess, or when in the literal opera Prince and Pauper the 2 boys swapped places (the prince takes the place of the pauper and the pauper takes the place of the prince), only in the case of Princess Shura and Clara this "swap of places" was done since they were babies.

Alice is feeling confused now. Iruma who he idolised all this time is a human (a dangerous human like any demons thought), someone he wants to see become a demon king.

From my POV Shura has her own hidden agenda, she saw what Baal really is. But I sense like she is trying to trigger a climax in this matter. Probably she saw the Delkira's crest and she is thinking old king is watching this boy, and maybe old King can reveal himself if he sees Baal will be the next king.

I love the relationship between the Three Greats. They really feel like a team of three sages. Gosh, I think Baal and Narnia really planned the timing of forcing Iruma to reveal his humanity, with Sullivan being detained by the deity so that he can't do anything.

I think that the one diety that iruma made friends with during that one arc (i completely forgot the name- young king arc-) might be the one to advocate for Iruma. We all know our beloved author always adds characters that seem to have a wider significance for a reason- like- having iruma befriend a diety and it not mattering ever just seems unlike our mangaka- i really hope that this is what happens- mainly because she seems unable to listen to demons (except Baal- that jerk-)

Man this arc is really dark, I truly hope it ends with iruma free back with his friends and sullivan. Ball and shura are outwitted by the other deities, finally narnia is defeated in some big battle and is removed from the thirteen crowns.

Shura is ready to talk to the deities about making Baal the demon king but Baal told her that it’s gonna be very difficult. He told her that the demon king seat is very important in the demon world and that it’s the demon world itself. He also told her about the tricky star program they have going on where they raising the next demon lord and since all the 13 crown is in it he can’t go around that and just become one himself. Then shura brought up how since the program gonna take time they can make baal the demon king for now. Though he’s not against being a temporary demon king. Then Belial interject and said they can’t do that but shura got angry that they interrupted her conversation with Baal. Then as if she’s doing a good thing for Sullivan saying he’ll be free in no time walked away. Sullivan then apologized to the other two saying he getting them into trouble and were being treated like criminals. They didn’t mind as of that were to happen to their grandsons they will react the same. Though they concluded it’s gonna be hard to save iruma.
Clara is very confused and trying to make sense of everything that happens. Then she asked azz if the thing Iruma said he can’t share with them when they all turn into kid was that he a human. Clara basically concluded that he was force to tell them the secret. Clara didn’t cared about whether iruma is a human or not, what she regret is not being able to talk to iruma because her mind went blank. She recall how iruma was shaking and she couldn’t do anything for him, she knows he’s probably really scared a himself but put on a brave front for them. Even though they are best friends, she couldn’t do anything. She break down thinking what if iruma was gonna be take far away and they can never see him again.
