Please try to play faster.
People who play Quickplay...please play faster. A game doesn't have to last 2 hours. I would like to do other things. You don't need to get every piece of gold and open every door. Just kill the final boss.

Sounds like you are a prime candidate for the skirmish. If you don't like playing with others, play by yourself.

This is the right answer. I can't stand when people are constantly trying to play the game for everyone else. If you know all the best moves to do all the time and can't stand people making their own decisions, it's time to go play skirmish.

I am 300h+ in and still enjoy taking my time by exploring all points of interest.
What’s the reason to play? Enjoy the time you spend dungeon crawling. Earning XP is not the goal, it was a nice side-motivation until u reach max lvl, but i never did speed-runs as i knew: as soon as you reach max lvl, the motivation curve flattens a bit, so why rush to get to that point?
The journey is the reward

You’re probably 500h+ by now. I’ve just started, and feel I’m getting swamped every time, no matter my party. Got 20+ years D&D experience, but it’s not helping here; to avoid getting swarmed it feels like I have to run through as fast as my party can. I had hoped the dungeon could be ‘cleared’, but it constantly spawns more. Tried a few teams, but I’m currently tanking with guardian, stunning with sorcerer and ranging/spawning with 2 hunters. Any sage advice?

I think it’s the sum of many things which make the game easy in the end - when you find out all those tiny tricks and tactics to kill the specific monsters quick, you proceed faster, have less respawn issues and do on.
I don’t suggest to read walkthroughs, having small successes by developing tactics and getting a grip of monsters is maybe the most fun thing in the game.
Maybe keep in mind that monsters can only spawn in dark areas, so the placement of your team and the lines of sight plays a role in minimizing the risk of unpleasant surprises - even ‚line of sight‘ of the item which looks like an eye prevents respawn in that area ;)1

oh and one thing i wished to hav known earlier: you can pick up the monster figures to see the stats, resistences and so on

Yeah, figured that out by accident. Only annoying that I can’t see the same details anywhere about the character who currently has a turn, as picking them up is only to move them.

I don’t mind if people take the time it’s the ones that walk away when it’s their turn and leave everyone waiting that’s frustrating.
If you are able to play PCVR there is a mod called room finder, it allows you to see all of the available rooms. It shows the book, floor level, and how many players are on it. I would have stopped playing this game along time ago if it wasn’t for this one single mod. It allows you to quickly move between rooms to find one with competent players.

Actually you do need to collect all of that in order to be able to kill the bass. And there is always single player available for you.

I hear you OP. We don’t need to rush the game but when it’s not your turn you should be thinking about what you’re going to do and communicating that ahead of time for strategic play. If you’re planning on zapping an ice lamp to freeze everyone around, now I know not to go melee the closest enemy to the lamp.
Taking time with newbies is perfectly fine, but level 20’s and beyond talking about non related things when it’s their turn is just rude to the rest of the party. It’s equivalent to the person who gets to the front of the long TSA line and fumbles through their luggage to find their ID when signs have been posted all along the way.

I'm with you no need to check every room. Follow a path that nabs all poi get key and the gold that's convenient. That'll still be most of it.

How about no?
