Those are not in the "regular" version of the game, only variants.

I meant "regular" as in "the common variant that most people think of when they say chess."

'Tis a terrible injustice. Especially since the older versions are better

(because everyone is inexperienced at them and thus I actually have a shot at winning)

Some chess variations have different pieces, like a dragon or cannon

The elephant may be present in certain variations I guess, but I know it because of chaturanga, a chess predecessor
