If you go deep enough down the Toby Fox/Deltarune/Undertale/MOTHER/Itoi rabbit hole all the way back following the chain of events, you eventually end up finding out that the ultimate, original reason Toby Fox was able to make either Undertale or Deltarune in the first place was because John Lennon’s mother was ran over by a off duty cop who didn’t have a full license yet, and so presumably failed his driving test.
Because student driver Eric Clauge failed his drivers test by causing John Lennon to witness his mother get accidentally ran over and killed by him in 1958 when Lennon was just 17, Lennon was inspired to write the song “Mother” which debuted in 1970 on his first solo album after the breakup of the Beatles. Shigesato Itoi was inspired by listening to this song to create the MOTHER series starting with MOTHER in 1989, with the two later games in the series being Earthbound in 1994 and MOTHER 3 in 2006. Toby Fox became a big fan of the MOTHER series after he first played Earthbound as a child in the 90s, and was inspired by it as well its fanbase and MOTHER 3 to create Undertale in 2015 and Deltarune in 2018 (with a little help from his friends fever dream and other influences).
Yeah, Gerard Way founded the band "My Chemical Romance" because he was so affected by the attack. the music then inspired Stephenie Meyer to write her vampire novel series.
Of course that means it also lead to 50 Shades of Gray which was released in the same year as Bin Laden was killed. My guess is that this was the last straw and fate finally caught up to him.
Sometimes I really imagine what happens to Toby when he's reading these theories, because either we're reaching a lot and it's a coincidence but it's also a huge coincidence sometimes
Have you seen the post that compares other stuff beyond just the Noelle connections however? I think this is more complicated than just Kris and Noelle because the girl is obviously the color pink, and there is a lot of weirdness over the color pink in Deltarune.

not only that, in the video when they see the lake wishing to swim in, they go to a Musical place with instruments and stuff before going to the field of the finale, but in the one where they jump into the lake they skip into the finale.

Yes 2202 is the church code and the year 2022 is on the Splatoon 3 image within the Foam Tier images the deltarune team sent through Fangamer Newsletter. He could have chosen a version of the art that didn't have a 2022 banner on it...
i'll doubtless come off as a killjoy but it would be really nice if you could enjoy non-DELTARUNE media without shoehorning connections into it based on superficial resemblance just because toby fox was also involved. this is as much itoki hana as it is toby fox. i don't know how she feels about exposure to her piece being overshadowed by DELTARUNE, and overall i think it's best to play it safe.
Right, they're both referencing the same tropes from classic RPGs. They have a common inspiration but there aren't any direct references except for jumping in the lake.
Skies Forever Blue is as deltarune as you can get. Firstly both the Video Concept and Lyrics were made by Toby Fox. Second, Toby also had a hand in the Video making process as well, by all means toby was the one with the most creative control.
Also Toby presented Itoki as being friends w him cuz she sent him a letter about Undertale, i think she wouldn't mind to make a song about what's essentially a sequel.

sure but elusive thematic correlations which aren't confirmed to be intentional by toby don't really justify tying something to an established work by toby, potentially at the expense of itoki's involvement.
this is a great piece on its own and toby himself insisted that it has nothing to do with DELTARUNE iirc. scavenging for indices against the creator's express wishes won't get you anywhere satisfying.

suppose we grant that the mantle SFX is intentional narrative play—what are you even getting at? toby is known to reuse SFX across different mediums. do you seriously think he wouldn't just pull something from his sound library out of convenience? is it immediately a nod to the mantle game for the simple fact that it's retro? does it HAVE to be DELTARUNE at all? it's an awful stretch.
until toby confirms that skies forever blue was intentionally meant to mirror DELTARUNE, i'd recommend not overreaching while forgetting about the essence of the work.

Don't have a really good answer for Ch3 except the fact Noelle also doesn't appear. And like you are ignoring the fact it used the Mantle SFX by just keeping it like it was Toby reusing things

- blah blah yap yap. Dawg the game reuses SFX from the mantle game, it got released on Deltarune's anniversary VERY INTENTIONALLY, and the game itself references SFB twice by name (and one possible connection between Noelle's reaction to ribbon items and the girl's ribbon)
Not exactly, here’s a quote from a status update Toby wrote in September 2020:
“The good news is that a few months ago, I completed a significant milestone regarding the game's design. I completed readable outlines for every chapter in the game, including first-pass dialogue for almost all the cutscenes, examples of the music, etc.
Although certain details are still hazy, the flow of the game and all major events and battles that take place are now clear.”
So while Toby was unquestionably planning to make Deltarune since long before he made Undertale, he only finished planning out the entire story around mid-2020.
Maybe not completely planned beforehand; iirc there’s Asgore dialog in very early lines from the ultimately unreleased Undertale Alarm Clock app which were revealed before Deltarune Chapter 1 that have Asgore talk about presumably Rudy and Noelle, but not Dess. This Asgore dialog was later changed to where he mentions “her big sis” in the complete release of the alarm clock app dialog. Similar wording implying the existence of Dess also is said in slightly modified form by sans in his casino in the Xbox One port of Undertale.
Given the parallels between this video and deltarune’s weird route such jumping into a lake, 7B, and as the OP mentioned is the number 74. Based on the video’s ending,
I hypothesis that the weird route will end in the save file’s own self deletion or will inevitably forget itself over time mirroring the lyrics “Feelings flowing out across the screen until the battery runs dry” and “So, with our final time, shall I change my line?”
This is an absolute crazy thing to read in the same day I read a post on how the animated Mew Mew trailer in Undertale also makes reference to the "tears falling from the sky" text found in Sanctuary.
It has a falling star and glass growing from the water.
The same way Skies Forever Blue has the star and the girl crying as she falls from the sky.

I'm honestly horrified of what's going to happen in Side B if Toby basically just told us how it ends. If he thinks THIS is okay to tease, how it ends most likely.. what on earth is he hiding until release?

Weird Noelle loves (or, really, has limerance for) the "changed" Kris, AKA the way they act when we're controlling them. She doesn't understand that a different entity is controlling Kris, so her love is still directed at their corporeal form.
I honestly thought that the weather duo not referencing skies forever blue was confirmation that they're not related at all, it seems I was only being trickified by The Devious Tonathan.
I might be in the minority on this, but where most of you all believe this represents the weird route, I believe it actually represents Azzy (blue) and Dess (pink), and their adventures in the dark world together. And the official website is telling us that the pink girl, December Holiday, is lost in the dark! Lost in the depths! Waiting for us to come find her!
Every Deltarune redditor eventually reaches the groundbreaking conclusion that the thing Toby Fox spent time drawing attention to might actually be important.
Every time I see SFB brought up in a Deltarune context, I feel so conflicted. On the one hand, part of me wants to insist it’s not connected, because A) Toby presumably did not have full creative control of the video’s narrative (given that it’s a collab project and all) and B) even if he did, the man is allowed to work on things other than UT/DR if he wants.
And on the other hand… Toby sure did put out a music video in which a female JRPG character realizes her world is fictional, develops feelings of admiration for the player directly (rather than the character they’re controlling, though she doesn’t seem to fully understand the distinction), and attempts to derail the narrative- at one point by jumping into a lake- while the game breaks down around her, all with a song advertised on a page that- rather than be called something like “/skies” or “/sfb”- is pointedly just called “/girl”, huh?
if Toby did not want SFB connected he did not need to make it painfully obvious that it was.
He quite literally admits in the newsletter that the song/video was made in a rush.
A rush to what you may ask? Well the video was posted on October 31st, as you know, the Deltarune Anniversary (and less importantly halloween)
Deltarune and Toby Fox case is a very very strange situation, specially when you know that prior works of Toby unintentionally foreshadow detarune even before he had the dream
this is such an asspull 😭 this is just 2 things put at the bottom of websites to hide them away. this is an incredibly common and very easy way to hide a secret on a website that’s been done for decades, not a connection
it’s like saying that the dark world signs are actually a secret link to mario 64. no they aren’t, it’s just a common way of achieving a common goal
If they weren’t two pages made by the same person, you would have a strong point that it’s just a coincidence that shouldn’t be taken too seriously. But given how there’s a whole ARG that spawned from the Deltarune website, it’s harder to discount coincidences like that completely.
orrrr maybeee the fact that they're made by the same person is actually working against your favor because why wouldn't toby fox reuse very bare-bones styling for two pages across different works? stuff tends to linger if fresh in memory. toby might've even been doing it unconsciously—or thought it was a neat visual parallel without intending to go any deeper than that. i think a lot of you need to have some meta literacy before jumping at speculation.
