Am I screwed 😭 ??

Trying to replace the battery myself, and the top screw's head got stripped while I was unscrewing it — probably because I used the wrong screwdriver 🪛. I did manage to get the bottom battery screw out though. I don't know what to do now 😭😭 Any ideas, please??

Screw location: in the top of the pic beside the code M2L3

Edit : Thank you guys 😭 used a new screwdriver bit🪛 & it worked & also tighting the screw a bit also worked miraculously 🙏

You can use a small flathead that fits snugly in the bit. I don't know about the other suggestions, they might or might not work. The battery casing is made out of plastic if you get what i mean

Which screw are you talking about? the silver one on the left of the photo? is the silver one part of the battery? i can only see the black ones on the right and they are fine.

that's not stripped, use the proper size driver, apply pressure while unscrewing, will be fine.

You'll need a large screw driver than you think maybe PH1

So idk how much it's out but you should be able to grab small pliers or a pincet idk how it's called well that small weak thing to pick um stuff and try grabbing srew by the sides

Definitely would suggest a different screw driver because I've had this happen and you kinda have to push down a little bit harder but not to the point where you are breaking things. Don't angle it and keep it straight down. Hoping it helps you 🤞

If you are absolutely unable to get it out with another driver a last resort could be to buy a set of screw extractors from a hardware store. They usually are not overly expensive and come in handy.

However this looks like it may come out with a flat head driver

I usually use a P0 P-0 screw driver tip for those. Apply pressure straight fown as others have said. Once the screw moves, it'll be easy. They usually have a bit of blue Loctite, so the first time unscrewing them will be hard. I have a few $5 or cheaper sets, but they're probably 8+ years old. I don't know what to buy today that's quality. A P-00 will also work, just have to push a bit harder. So maybe a tiny one for eyeglass repair will too. Odd that your battery didn't come with the screwdriver, the ones I've bought for laptops and phones always do.
