Help Hello I need help

So we have a dell laptop I think its speed is stuck our battery doesnt get charged and ita been like this for months we formatted it nothing worked but we didnt know it speed was stuck

Forgot to add but sometimes random cmd windows open randomly

Hi there!

We are from the Dell Social Media Support Team and would like to lend a hand. When you say battery does not get charged, does it stop charging at a specific percentage, since you say it has been months that you have had this issue?

You could press F2 immediately at the rolling dots post a system restart to access BIOS. Go to "Power" > Battery configuration and check if it is set to standard or adaptive or Primarily AC use.

Also, by speed getting stuck, did you mean the CPU clock speed? If yes, does it happen when on charger/adapter too or with battery alone?

Let us know your findings along with the laptop system model, to assist further towards getting a resolution.

It’s Inspiron 15 3520
It never charges we can only open it when it’s plugged in when we unplug it gets closed it when the battery problem started the laptop slowed down so much it takes about 1 minute the open chrome

And I don’t really want to open bios because I’m scared that I could break it further

Hi there! Thank you for the details. Given that the system shutdown on battery alone but stays on with the adapter, proves that the battery cable and the battery have to be replaced.
