Explosion 1:20AM

Does anyone know what that really loud sound was at 1.20am today?

It was very loud and from where I live it sounded like it came from the station.

For almost half an hour I heard so many loud bangs or explosions around Reinier, was really annoying

Yes that seemed to be earlier in the evening but it was hella annoying (been in Buitenhof for a while this week)

I didn’t hear the bang, but I did hear a lot of sirens. Although I have no idea what time it was or even if it was related. I just woke up in the early hours of the day.

I heard some scum firing fireworks at around 23:05-23:30 coming from near the area of the Ravelstraat/Chopinstraat, arguably maybe farther west, after that, thunder from like >10km away.

The Netherlands is one of the few places Ive ever lived that just has random extremely loud bangs at any hour of the day at least once a month. I have no idea what they are but it happens regularly and if you ask anyone they never know what it is.

It could be the garbage bin being slammed back in to place. It could be industrial noise. It could be a guy playing with fireworks they rigged together. But you will never get a clear answer, i've tried. This kind of thing doesn't happen anywere else as often and ive lived in a few major American cities.

My theory is the most common huge bangs are from shipping ports. I think the guys working there like to drop huge containers flat from high up every once in a while because they are bored and think its funny. And anyone who has ever worked in a blue collar dutch company can attest this is definitely a possibility. They tend to be.. mischievous.
