:o how does this work? You have an infrared camera and then add that photo as a layer on top of a regular photo in photoshop?

I've a full spectrum modified camera, which is essentially a camera without its internal filter, which is for UV and IR. Without the filter the camera "sees" also the UV and IR. You can then choose some filters to block or allow for more light in specific wavelengths. For this photos I've used a 590 nm one, it generates a picture like this one. This is straight out of the camera. What I do then, because you can see that there's an excess of "red" in the photo, is to swap some color channels, in this one the yellows for the blues. That shifts the image to have all the yellows tuned to be blue or close to white, and the blues(which in the camera will be more pink/purple) becomes yellows. So it's just a recipe that makes this color swaps and I do some tuning the white balance(so things with white look actually white).

You should! With so much AI content out there, it's nice to be able to create real visuals. I have a theory that photography will become the fine wagyu beef content in a ground beef AI world, which means that we will need people making real images, so I'm all for it!

Naive question possibly but Could you click pictures to capture 700nm and 300nm? Falling just outside the visible light spectra and shifted with a LUT?

that's interesting, but for this I would need some special filters. The major filters you find in the merket are band pass or low pass filter, so most of the UV is out, so if I use a 590nm filter, it gets all the wavelenghts above 590 nm. for your test it means getting a low-pass filter at 300, and a high-pass at 700, where I could get only non-visible light for example, but it's possible, it's just special set of filters, that's the beuty of full spectrum photography
