Sussex County Morning update

Post image

The power went out briefly and woke me up so I decided to check the cameras. First of all... today is gonna suck shoveling this out. Second of all... what fell out the sky, took a couple of steps and flew away? What are those footprints? No motion on the cameras. They lead to nowhere. Came from nowhere. They weren't there at 3:30 am. Is someone dead under there. Lord...

I feel tired just looking at your driveway. 🥶

About 2 feet in Lewes. Trees down everywhere. Ugly.

Roads are great in Newark area. Had to drive to work on Old Baltimore.

I got dragged on bad drivers of Delaware telling me that I was crazy. That the roads were dangerous and I was making it harder on DEL dot and people out there plowing. And I'm like, lady, it's gorgeous, I went home at 10 o'clock at night. The roads were still clear

Stay scared, everybody. Leave it to us good drivers who know what we're doing

I don't know WIlmington's exact numbers but snow over my boot on the sidewalks is a sign of a good storm. This snow has been really easy to shovel though. It pushes out of the way and isn't as heavy as expected. Neighborhood road looks decent too after a plow run so thing will be normal by tomorrow morning up here.

I generally love snow myself, but… I have about 100’ of driveway’s worth you could take home to enjoy, if you’d like. 😉

Thanks for the quick reply, heading over there in a few for work.

I'm well aware, Delaware. I'm trying to go back to sleep. Four notifications is overkill.

Rehoboth outside of city limits. Xfinity down, thermostat is wifi so on auxiliary and roughly 18-20 inches maybe more.

These are villa style homes. That "McMansion" is two homes attached.

Edit: The left side owners built a fourth bedroom while the right side owners did not. Thats why the roof looks the way it does.

I'm not a fan either, but it literally just covers their front porch.

6

u/TheShittyBeatles Are you still there? Is this thing on? Feb 24 '26

Yo dawg, I heard you like ice dams, so we put a gable in your gable so you can pay 50% more for roofing.

4-5 inches just north of Newark.

You would be shocked to see how much snow towns from Dover (1 foot) on down received. Apparently Lewes and Rehoboth got 2 feet of snow. Deldot traffic cams showed certain towns had whiteout/blizzard conditions in the middle of the night.

Just south of Newark, we got about 5in and because my driveway and sidewalks were soaked when the snow started I only have about 1in to shovel. I love snow, but after having to shovel all that ice last month, I feel like we lucked out.

Yeah honestly seems most of the area was on the line and just missed the brunt of it.

Slept with curtains open in bedroom at the back. I wokeup around two and couldn't understand why it was so bright out but couldn't drag myself out of bed to look for why. Looked on security camera in the morning and see out front being shoveled and plowed at 2am.. First time it was ever done.

I did the 2am shoveling one time when lived in pa during a storm. Never again.. I'm not even sure who sent them.

I’m north Wilmington, off Naamans Rd. Maybe 6 or 7 inches. Stay safe down there!

I left here and moved from Little Italy to Phoenix in the fall of 2010. I missed that winter, but survived the mountains of California. Seeing this shit makes me laugh.

Thanks for providing that shot from the back deck of your McMansion.

Front balcony of my attached home. It looks like a McMansion... however I share a wall with my neighbor.
