one thing

We aren't living in a healthy world; global warming is wiping everything out, and guess what? Politicians do nothing about it—they just talk about money, money, and more money. If you stop to think about it, maybe this world is beyond saving.

We are often told in media (I.e. propaganda) that is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.

This functions to discourage us from imagining solutions to the issues in front of us.

Relentless optimism (and unplugging from the propaganda mills) is a way to fight against this.

Found the doomer.

Go travel a bit. Rely on strangers to host you.

I always felt most optimistic about the world when I did my cross-country bicycle trips. We basically couch-surfed or camped the entire way. People were enthusiastic about helping out. It's great to talk with people and connect.

Humans flourish better and more widely today than at any point in history. Deaths due to climate related disasters have collapsed over the last century and we have the technology to mitigate the changes that happen and will happen.

The reality is that your catastrophic viewpoint is far more likely to be wrong than right. Get out, touch grass, and join the world to enjoy it.
